hi all

i graduated last year from JMU with a 3.0 BCPM gpa and have since enrolled as a NON-DEGREE POST-BAC. student at a local university near where i live now (GMU) and have been taking a few upper level bio courses like Immunology and Virology to boost my undergrad bcpm gpa slightly while i figure out what i want to do as far as getting a 1 year masters (smp) or something like the drexel program b3fore applying to med school.

my question is, will these classes i am now taking as a "non-degree post-bac student" (thats my official student status at GMU--whatever that means) be averaged in with my undergrad JMU gpa or will it be calculated in a separate catergory when i apply through amcas....these classes i am taking now dont count as graduate credits do they?-- i was hoping it would all be counted in 1 combined gpa

i think i will definately need to do a special masters program like Gtown if i want to go to med school-- so is it also a good idea to do what i am doing taking these classes, eventhough it will only boost my ever so slightly---my overall gpa was 3.45 and i just took the august mcat and found it extremely difficult--but who knows

anyways, any help would be much appreciated...hope it wasnt too confusing to understand

thanx!

The courses you took at JMU will be distributed into Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior categories.

The undergrad courses you are taking now at GMU will go into a separate section called Postbaccalaureate Undergraduate.

Your Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, Senior, and Postbaccalaureate Undergraduate grades will all contribute to the Cumulative Undergraduate GPA.
