I feel like you are incredibly rude and inconsiderate and and condescending to me and other people here.Honestly, i don't get all this nervousness. To me, it just seem childish, i am not you guy's parent but you guys all need to grow up a bit. When i passed this exam, it was only being offered once a year. I knew if i didn't pass, i would had to wait one more year. But it didn't make me nervous at all, my philosophy was, "so what if i didn't pass this time, i can just take it again next year" and i was already thinking more elevated thinking in terms of HOW can we improve this exam ? so that it will be more indicative of true test of clinical ability in real life patients so that We can become better clinicians so we can BETTER help our patients, that we all took the OATH to do. I passed but that in itself didn't offer me any relief or satisfaction at all.
PLEASE you all,,,, Remember your OATH... OATH you all took to do everything you humanly possible to help your patients. That is ONLY thing that really matters in your career. Don't ever forget.
And if we did get a job, 45/hour while the ivory tower pharmacists like Drakulie enjoy that lushous 70-80-90/hour day shift, weekdays, potentially with pensions and retiring at age 55100% agree. Can't even seem to get an interview. I'm hoping having the letters changes that.
Given the BPS has a proprietary non-transparent scoring scale of 200 - 800, you can't conclude that 500 is super low. We have no idea what a 500 translates to on a raw scale. Does a 200 mean the raw score is 0/175? Does a 800 mean a perfect score? Who the hell knows. A 500 today may have meant a 550 "back in the day." The BPS scoring system totally reminds me of this wonderful scene:Wow,, That is super low. Was the test really hard or something this time ?? LOL. I don't get that. When i took it i know it was much higher than that somewhere in mid 500 range. That is a shame they are passing people with that low of a score 500.
I know you guys studied hard and i want you guys to pass but still 500 is low score,, man. This is Why i have always said this Board cert Exam for pharmacist is a sham and is NOT reflective of true clinical ability of a particular hospital pharmacist.
This exam needs some serious overhaul. Like adding Verbal exam in addition to written exam. similar to waht physicians do. Ok then international people can't fly over and do this as easily,,, So what,,,,,,,,,,,, what does that matter
I don't think MDs have a verbabl component. None of my friends ever mentioned that.Wow,, That is super low. Was the test really hard or something this time ?? LOL. I don't get that. Where are you located? If you don't want to say I understand. I will say that every major city is simply BRUTAL. The competition is fierce. The applicants we get have a minimum of a residency or certification or they get thrown in the trash. Sad but true. Experience doesn't seem to count for much these days unless it becomes the deciding factor when all other metrics are equal. If I were in pharmacy school right now I would definitely be stressed. It is really unfortunate that the profession cranked out way too many schools. If any students are on this thread, pursue a PGY2 if you can, it might be the only hope for a job in a major city with a big hospital. And if we did get a job, 45/hour while the ivory tower pharmacists like Drakulie enjoy that lushous 70-80-90/hour day shift, weekdays, potentially with pensions and retiring at age 55
I wonder if there have been BCPS pharmacists who have applied for residency recently lol. Even if I pass, I might have to apply for a residency for long term thinking anyways
Some clinical pharmacists have literally told me to just join a 24 week coding bootcamp instead of studying for BCPS again if I failed, as computer science folks occasionally have WFH jobs as the norm and easily earn >45/hour without begging haha
In the employers defense, I understand why its an easier decision to hire an ASHP residency trained board certified pharmacist vs a candidate with neither qualification. So sometimes we just gotta play by the rules and get a BCPS and a residency to get a job.
Many specialties have oral board exams in order to become Board Certified.I don't think MDs have a verbabl component. None of my friends ever mentioned that.
Interesting. Didn't know that. I see that some specialities require it and others don't. Good to know. Many specialties have oral board exams in order to become Board Certified.
Mine does.
Yuck. In fact, double yuck! Reminds me of a PhD qualifier or Defense. Many specialties have oral board exams in order to become Board Certified.

Well that's why they make the Big Bucks! : )Yuck. In fact, double yuck! Reminds me of a PhD qualifier or Defense.
Very funny. Depends on where you work. Some of my classmates chose Academia or government.Well that's why they make the Big Bucks! : )
That is exactly like BCPS exam .What was the passing score before? Also we dont know how they are actually grading these exams. 175 question and the scoring is 200-800 so go figure on what they consider passing. And to your question, I cant speak much except the BCIDP exam, and the exam was difficult because the questions didnt match the materials or how one would even practice. The questions were so off the rails, might as well have gone in blind.... It was not at all what I expected from a professional exam.
I would like to know the answer to that question 😜So if they don't release the score until after the 60 day mark does that mean auto pass since it falls outside their window?.
Also, I probably will call them tomorrow morning and ask "seeing as the release of the spring test results are taking an ungodly amount of time for an electronic exam. Can we sign up for the fall exam and get a refund if it's not necessary to retake it?"
LOL, you could do that but you know they will just retort with saying they are still inside the 60 day window as of now.... : )So if they don't release the score until after the 60 day mark does that mean auto pass since it falls outside their window?.

Oh I agree that they could and likely would.LOL, you could do that but you know they will just retort with saying they are still inside the 60 day window as of now.... : )

Don't worry about missing the retake. Not gonna happen. They will always make an exception when it comes to harvesting your $300. I had this same potential dilema last year due to COVID and they told me not to worry at all if I missed the deadline. Luckily I passed the BCCCP at that time so all was moot, but no need for you to worry.Oh I agree that they could and likely would.
Thank you!!! I didn't know about this, this is incredibly insightful! I greatly appreciate it!!For those looking for a job and having a tough time, this report may be of use depending on your ability/desire to relocate. Some cities have much better demand than others. https://www.aacp.org/sites/default/files/2021-07/pharmacy-demand-report-07082021.pdf
Yes, I'd imagine by this time next week (7/30/21) we will know some more information. I figure I will just learn here first =)Looking at last year’s thread, scores were slowly being released on Tuesday, July 28th. If history repeats itself, they may be released early next week.
Go out and enjoy the weekend! The stressing can resume next week lol
I got bcps about 2 years ago and I totally agree with this advise. it just makes my name look good on an email signature. Apart from that it didn't change anything. None of my supervisors have that credentials. I would also like to contribute my time to learn coding rather than doing CEs to maintain this four letters after my name. And if we did get a job, 45/hour while the ivory tower pharmacists like Drakulie enjoy that lushous 70-80-90/hour day shift, weekdays, potentially with pensions and retiring at age 55

Thank you!!!!Ok guys! Got an email response! "Scores will begin to be posted to candidates profiles starting next Monday (July 26th) on a rolling basis through July 30th." No mention of a release schedule and no need to keep looking today then 😜.
YAY!Ok guys! Got an email response! "Scores will begin to be posted to candidates profiles starting next Monday (July 26th) on a rolling basis through July 30th." No mention of a release schedule and no need to keep looking today then 😜.
Lat year was COVID and everything was off. I actually took my test on June 25th and got my results on July 24th!!! So they were crazy fast last year.Looking at last year’s thread, scores were slowly being released on Tuesday, July 28th. If history repeats itself, they may be released early next week.

Did they say in 2021 or 2022? I don’t trust them anymore 🤣 Thanks for the update!Ok guys! Got an email response! Wow, well they really are going to be using their full 60 days allotment. So, I should get my score Wednesday (BCIDP) and the BCPS people will get theirs on Thursday of Friday depending on last name.Ok guys! Got an email response! Or the flipside, too many people failed. I could easily see a 40% pass rate on the BCIDP judging by some of the responses on our thread over there. There were some very well prepared people (not me) that still felt the exam was insane due to the obscure random questions outside the "meat and potato" topics that one would expect. I will be totally shocked if I pass. I've never felt so bad walking out of an exam before. I've actually been studying these past 8 weeks in preparation for sitting for Fall.I can imagine 2 scenarios for the delay.... either too many people passed and they're trying to figure out what to do about it, or someone (or multiple) key people are on vacation or delayed to provide their input necessary to share the results... still possible they announce all the results at once today or anytime next week though highly doubtful about the weekend haha
Amazing! Also noticed this just now! Spring 2021 Examination Score Report UpdateOk guys! Got an email response! And here I thought I had some kind of inside scoop 😆Amazing! Also noticed this just now! Spring 2021 Examination Score Report Update
Didn't realize it was based on last name. Wishing I kept my maiden name 😭😭Wow, well they really are going to be using their full 60 days allotment. So, I should get my score Wednesday (BCIDP) and the BCPS people will get theirs on Thursday of Friday depending on last name.
You totally did! I think they updated the website this morning afterwards, probably when they realized its faster then replying to everyone's emails! And here I thought I had some kind of inside scoop 😆
Same lolNow I am super stressed next week starting Monday 😢
I need that BCIDP next to my name. I skipped doing the BCPS and went straight to that. I really need it to help me get this job I applied to and mentioned to them I took the exam...I don’t care when it is released, I need that 500 and a BCPS next to my name.
Depends on if the people grading/releasing the scores live somewhere on the other side of the world.Does anyone think scores will start releasing at midnight tonight? Or that it will be sometime tomorrow?
Mine still does 😔 I’m going to be refreshing all day lolMy home page no longer has the test listed as eligible so may be today!
maybe we didnt pass ? 🙁 maybe we still eligible to take it....Mine still does 😔 I’m going to be refreshing all day lol
