How do I get to become a moderator. I start school in the fall. Is that enough? Anyone know?

I believe the rule says you have to post at least 30 of these 🙂rolleyes: ) per day or one in each post your make, whichever is greater.

Start your own forums elsewhere where only trolls are allowed. Make sure the other trolls dont usurp power from you.

You have to get approval from Lee & the current mods...we decided based on your posting history & interactions around here.

Good luck. 🙂

thats it?

you guys just pick out some potential people and offer them a spot?

Yes, if we see a need for a moderator in a specific forum.

To quote DC: "Please stop posting pointless threads.... I am moving this thread to the lounge."

I think you need to be an Emu or a member of the Ostrich family in order to be considered competative enough to be considered for the moderator position.

From my understanding, you need to take the MET (moderators Entrance Test) and be invited to an intervew where you are asked to review 3000 threads and pick out the 3 trolls.

Then you need 3 letters of recommendation from other posters, at least 1 of them a certified troll.

You should hear in about 3 weeks.

What are my chances?

I have a 38 on the MET and a 4.0 GPA. My LORs are excellent and I have really good ECs (I have even volunteered as a moderator for a message board in a third world country for the past three years.) But I haven't done any research and I'm afraid my sample thread on the writing sample isn't very good. Do you think I still have a shot at becoming a moderator? This has been my dream since I was four years old.

Sorry, couldn't resist. 🙂

sorry atpase...you just dont have enough forum experience. with the paltry 380 posts you have...you should think about increasing that. why just post in preallo? you have other options as well to increase your clinical posting experience. the lounge, financial aid, etc...the possibilities are endless.

improve your app there and i think you are golden. 😀

Thank you for the suggestions, jlee. Sometimes I post in the lounge, but usually only under Word Association. I guess if I really want to fulfill my dream, I need to take some risks!
