just want to know how many of you took or will take any course praparaton and if yes which course ucla duggan...
or just practicing yourself

Hi .it seems to me that so far no body has recieved anything, I just dont see the exitment among the examinees. and I have'nt heard any incouraging news.unfortunatly it reminds me the ''uncertenty'': era that we lived couple of years ago. never loose hope!

I know of people who have received notices that they were picked for the nov 3-5 exam .
I also heard a rumor that there will only be 1 exam in Nov. Did anybody hear anything about that?? Has anybody received notices for the Nov. 10-12 exam ???
Is it possible that the board have decided to have only 1 exam in Nov. because they only have about 500 applicants???
As I said it's only a rumor, i don't have any other information!!

1. regd the full ceramic crown shoulder : do you angle the shoulder? or leave it like a butt joint?
2.do u bevel the gingival floor in a class2 comp?
3. what is the exam sequence?
4. does anyone rem the exact ques for class3 comp?

for the UOP exam they did specify the gingival clearence to be 1mm....and people probably failed if they stuck to .5 mm as told by Duggan or any one else..... I guess you have to read their specifications if mentioned.....

for the UOP exam they did specify the gingival clearence to be 1mm....and people probably failed if they stuck to .5 mm as told by Duggan or any one else..... I guess you have to read their specifications if mentioned.....

Hi,
I took the exam on April 9th. As far as I remember there was no measurements or guidlines written on the assignment sheet regarding the class III prep or restoration . The assignments were :
#8 ML Composite Prep
#10 DL Composite Finish

They will specify on the day of the exam....on the sheet they write abt the preps..........we have to do..........

I spoke to dawn she assured me that there will be no amalgam fills it is 100% amalgam prep ,,rather,, she mentiopned that there will be only one fills either amalgam or composite but not both !!
so I am not practicing amalgam fills

if you dont write your ref no how do the board know that it is from you it could be from any one did you send any other document with your check or

Who said so? Let me paraphase the law passed - "while the CDB will try to provide 4 trials per candidate however there is no guarantee that we will be able to do so."

I am in the same situation as your wife. I got my first attempt on april 9th in USC and now they send me to take the exam again at USC.
I passed my second part in april 03 as well.

Hi I was able to talk with the exam unit too.she was very nice and helpfull,What I undrstood that they are still procesing the applications.,and probably they will be done by friday,so as you mentioned cross fingers,and good luck to all of us.

So just practice what you have been taught and hope that the examiners agree with what you think a right prep would look like😕

In that case, why dont we discuss among ourselves and come with the best fit measurements and follow them. Kind of in between from Duggan, Stevenson, Thaw, UOP.

What is the point in taking the exam when we don't know the passing criteria? It's just a waste of our time, effort and money and the only one gaining from that is the board.What kind of exam is this when the graders themselves don't agree to exact measurements??? One grader could fail the exact same prep that another one accepted!!!Moreover the exact same prep that could pass in uop can fail in USC !!!👎
Our demands to have standardized measurements is both fair and legitimate and we should not take "NO" for an answer!! If they can't have these measurements ready by the NOV. exam , then maybe they should just cancel that exam and have another one when THEY are ready!!!

also ivorinedust,it was a good question to ask.. the occlusal clearnce was a big hasstle for most of us.. and now we have so many ideas.. also thanks to all the sdner's for ur replies... ivorinedust keep asking such ques.. it really helps...

i have the one's from pearson dental.... ok not very helpful,and they don't mark the surface,so i use a articulating paper along with the strips to mark the high points... maybe the commonsense dental one's are better.. but they are more expensive..

i havn't even got a confirmation letter,but i still have a intuition that they might repeat the same prep's that they gave in april exam... its just my intuition,i hope i am right 😉, please don't stop practising other prep's coz of me...
anyway's do u guys think the following prep's could be asked?
