Hi, I'm looking for a female roomate to share accomodation in Newport Beach on 10/25 & 10/26. PM me if interested. Thanks.

The number to register for the UoP mockboard is 1-800-922-4UOP within California. Go to the website and look in Continuing Education for more info.

Take a closer look at your RGS instruments. They do not always measure exactly what they are supposed to. For instance, my RGS 1 is longer than 1.5 mm in length and RGS 3 is really small not even 1mm. If the measuring instruments we use are not accurate how can we have a prep that measures right.

Good luck on the test

Hi, Shelly

Thanks for the info. I have signed up.
BTW, are you practicing the Amalgam filling at home ? I don't have any idea about how I am gonna start this.

Anyone practising on kilgore ?...... Please tell me in DO 20 do we have to involve the distolingual groove in the outline form...... since there is a groove it should ideally be extended in the outline form but then the prep looks really weird .....as it is kilgore is not very appealing where outline form is concerned.... will it be a major error if we do not extend it into this DL groove.............anyone please help........what does dr Duggan or anyone else say ...... anyone knows?

Please somebosy reply regarding this.......also what does RGS stand for ....pardon my ignorance........
...
Thanks

hey guys,

Rgs is a pair of mesuring instruments designed by Dr. Stevenson.each side has certain lenth and width so you could use to check the oc. reduction or pulpel depth and so forth.regarding your 1st question I'm not sure.

just have your regular 4 hole handpiece and you will be ready to rock.good luck.

At the exam committee meeting at UOP last summer, someone asked the board members what were they looking for in a Class III prep? And this what they said:

1.5 - 2 mm tall incisogingivally
1.2 mm axially
Maintain incisal contact
Break gingival by 0.5 mm
Break facial barely.
Bevel optional
Rounded internal line angles

Hope this is helpful.

Talked to Dawn two weeks ago. They prepared no such guidelines, so NO measurements will be released for the November exams.

hi,
why don't we all seek help from people studying at UOP? is there anybody out there from UOP who can tell us more about which handpieces work there?

Thank you!

I tested at UOP in April. The star handpiece is different and that is the high speed handpiece they use at the school. However, any 4 hole HP will fit and work well in their low speed attachment which is right next to their HS attachment on the side of the manikin. In addition they will provide you with another cable having a 4 hole adapter attached to the counter. This one you can use for the low speed HP.

Dont be paranoid about the HPs. There is a lot more to worry about

Does anyone know ehre to stay for the USC exam. A hotel that is close by, comfortable and not very expensive. Any help would be appreciated.

Many Thanks!

Good Day All
any help with a full porc crown measurements on a premolar (upper and lower)! any help will be appreciated!

Are you guys keeping gingival clearance as 0.5 mm in a class 3?. It is difficult to get that in the mesial cavity of 8 and 9 in a columbia typodont unless you start too gingivally. The facial clearance should be very less as was discussed in the meeting. Are you getting 0.5mm clearance by placing a bevel ? 0.5mm clearance becomes possible with a bevel or increasing the length of the cavity or going deep facially.
Is 0.5 mm gingival clearance a must? Please give your suggestions.

hi, this is what i know: you can still use the same rod that u have, but columbia has come out with a new rod, this rod is 's' shaped so the typodont can open about 10 mm more, i havn't seen it,but i have ordered it. u can buy it from columbiadentoform for 3.25$ or from usc, ucla, and dr duggan's is selling it. its called KBRD 2.5. but u can definetly use the old one, which is the straight one,i didn't have any so when i ordered i got this one... so if u have the older one don't worry...

hi,
i just got the rod,its not an 's',infact its just slightly bent at the centre and yes it definetly allows u open the typodont more than a straight rod... so if u get it its good.. or else even straight one is good...
