the preps were the same on both days. At USC they specified that you could not use the curved rods. They hae extra on hand there. So if you havve straight rods take those to the test too. If they do not object you can use the curved one but be prepared with the straight one too.

Can someone please point me a link (or product number) from where I can get this rod+plate that is required for the exam. I have been practising on the regularbench mount setup but I don't think that I have this rad that is required for the exam. Thanks a lot.

the metal rod is a piece of metal you insert in the typodont during the exam , to limit the typodont from openinig as a GATOR 😀 ..i called duggan to order the S shape one ..they told me (George) keep up with the straight one, coz they already announced :no S-shape rod for the clinical.!

Hi .I know some of you going to take the exam ,so I wish you the best of luck.I have been working as a technician for so many years, and honestly speaking I have seen thausands of preps from expeireanced "dentists'' with so many titels ,Tufts and other well known school graduates,that believe it or not if they take this exam they even wouldn't score 50.so I ask all of you to be encouraged, and even God forbid if you fail ,never ever undermine your skills and abilities.I don't want to discuss about the nature and the fairness of this exam because all of you know that very well.anyways hoping to hear some good news from all of us.for now good luck.

It would look uglier if the restoration itself looked like a smiling bean or a frowning banana🙂

I tried to be generous in my occlusal reduction to make a "full occlusal porcelain" as assigned.. I hope I did right. But I did not cut a smiley on my prep. LOL

BTW, the examiners check occlusal reduction on #5 based on the height of #4, not against the opposing lower teeth. Or so I have been told. Weird bunch, these examiner guys.

I totally agree with sadanand ,things are not good with patient finding services.Anyway if u want to buy pts then u should go to betty who is in s.f or linda who is in l.a.Anyway also remeber try to give your exam in the place u live otherwise it is very difficult to transport patients.

I totally agree with u. but in case u cant give the xam in the same place u r, then make sure u buy the patients in the place u r. s i think betty has very good cases & she is also very helpful & considerate unlike the patient finding services, they r only intrested in money especially rob & griffeth. they send all stupid cases.

I got all my patients from LuLau, I had the most beautifull cases ever.
#13 DO (which Dr. Stevenson consider the A case), #8 D and perio LL with only 6 teeth.
Mrs. Lau is wonderfull she offered me a perio case that I did not liked and then we changed for this perfect case.
She has an website and is located in LA.
I also heard a lot of bad stuff about Patient Finding

It's not at all good idea getting patients from any of these services.If you get a good patient you are lucky but if you don't you have to literally cry during exam.
we wasted our time talking to patient finding services all day before the exam.Any service try to sale their patient no matter whether it's ideal or not.if you reject one patient they will give it to another student.I didn't have patient one day before the exam and ten min.before the exam that guy was asking me to choose one from what he was having.you can think about the stress level.one of my friends had patients from Lulau and pulp was necrotic.And she was saying that student that i will give you free patient next time.Think about it!!!
For so many students ,The lesion was so deep that they had to ask extensions for 7 times.
Think about all these things.Try to find patients as soon as you get your result.

i agree with shachi b/c if u r getting the patient from any agency and that case is good then consider ur self lucky.and about patient finding services i would also say those people ( specially dr.gilbert) are the most rude fellows.those guys charges about 2000$ for one patient and they pay the patient only 100-200$, that is the reason their patients are not well motivated.but if some how by any chance you have to go to those services,do ur homework with that.try to look at the assigned patient by ur self and tell these guys that you would like to see the patient by urself and if ur satisfied then only pay for it.and if by mistake u paid them in advance then you will be stuck with them.they never ever return the money and they will tell u to select the cases among allthe stupid cases (which they call ideal cases)they have.
i know guys at this moment you might find this post useless but i prey to god that all of u may pass this exam and then please dont forget to read this post while looking cases for part 4 exam

no you cannot apply the best bet would be a two year program prepare for part 1 score good then apply to various school you will have about $200 K loan at the end of the program🙂

you can practice in washington and arizona if those states recognize the foreign graduation program if not call the state board that you wanna practice they will tell you details ,,for eg in california they recognize a dentist even if you are foreign trained if you have completed part3 and part 4 test i dont know if arizona or washington boards recognizes the foreign trained dentist🙂

Really hope that everyone did ok. I heard that there was a huge number of examinees this time. Is this true?
and if it is , what does this mean? do they really want to get this thing over with and go on with their lives? it sure looks like it , if it is tue that there were many examinees. Plus the fact that people could do it more than 2 times ( im sure most people will not need that many)

I am praying to receive favorable results by Thanksgiving, so I would have one more thing to be really thankful for. But I feel that the Board will take a few more weeks for the results because of the number of examinees who took the RTE. So, I'd relax and enjoy the holidays, and will be thankful for the opportunity to take the exams. Thanks for the well wishes, Halaby.

It is either dental loupes from design for vision or oroscoptic . I have bought mine from design for vision since they gave you 45 days trial so you can decide whether you want it or not . I have asked them to send me both the standard 3.5 magnification and the expanded 3.5 . If you asked my opinion I enjoy the EF 3.5 but the problem is that it is heavy and often slide down the bridge of my nose , so i ended up buying the standard 3.5 . You can ask them to let you try both.

If the DBC send the results after Christmas or New Year, candidates who have failed the exam in Nov. '06 (which for God sake, I hope it will be none) will not have enough time to apply for the next RT exam because, acording to the web site information, the deadline is Dec.1, 2006 to Jan.7 2007. Am I wrong in that?

Now, I heard a very ugly thing it happened to someone taking the clinical exam. Another candidate offered more money to his patient...Hey!! Brothers and sisters, no matter what or how stressed out you are during that exam, there is no excuse to be so cynic and forget about ethics...which is part of the exam too.

Aside of that, I am sending a big hug to everybody who is sweating, eating finger nails, having nightmares, losing weight, gaining weight, etc, while waiting for the RT exam's results.

i don't know the rules, and iam sure if someone knew the rules they would have posted the answer,the best thing for you to do is email dawn,or call dbc and make sure you get the right response. the best people to answer you are the dbc people... so just call them. the dbc phone number is on their website. www.dbc.ca.gov.
