I currently have BR Organic chemistry 2002, and I was wondering if anyone know if the Berkeley's review made any significant change since their 2002 version.

Thanks!

Yes. The major change in content for MCAT AAMC happened in 2003, so 2002 would be outdated.

Sorry, I started a new thread post regarding this question
--------
I was wondering if it's worth my money to buy the new version of BR organic chemistry.

According to their website, the contents described for organic chemistry is exactly the same as the 2002 version. Do they update their sites often?

In particular, there are 2 things in 02 version that does not seem to fit the new MCAT outline:

1. E1 and E2 mechanism was not listed, nor was alkene and alkyne mentioned. Does the new version still contain these information?

2. They also wanted alot more details than what was covered for alcohol and carbonyls in 2002 version (e.g. in 2002 version, it never mentioned protection of alchol)

Would really appreciate if anyone could let me know! thanks!

Honestly, I own BR Orgo 2003, and this one even has a lot more than you need. I think that given the possibility of Orgo not showing up in your exam much (of course, this doesn't mean you should neglect it as this will backfire on you), buying a new BR set is useless.

BR Orgo is extremely dense, which, if you are good at Orgo, is unnecessary. I am using EK Orgo, and supplementing it with TPR and EK 1001. I'll do some passages out of the old one, but I don't think it's that big deal. I wouldn't buy it unless you have extra money laying around the house. 😎
