For a patient in the southeast, specifically Tennessee, who is the best Head and Neck Cancer surgeon to see? Memphis, Nashville, Little Rock, Tuscaloosa, Birmingham, and Jackson, MS would be preference cities.

By reputation, Vanderbilt is going to have the best H&N department of the cities which you mention. That means nothing as to the quality and bedside manner of the individual docs you see.

I agree with otofan, though, about who's the best. If the doc you see doesn't feel that they can provide the best care, they will refer you to who they think will. That is generally the case in our specialty and one of the things I like most about it.
