I have 7-8 weeks until I take my part I. In the attempt to get as high a score as possible, cramming as mch info in as little time as possible...what's the best tactic? These are the ways I see of doing it:
1. Do dental decks as many times as I can, knowing every detail well.
2. Do old board exams (I think it comes out to a full exam ever 2-3 days) attempting to go over every answer and underestand it.
3. Read review books of the material and try to digest the info.

What's the best way of doing it? or is there a good combo? Any insights are greatly appreciated...

I guess 1+2 combo, that's what i'm doing right now. 7-8 weeks time is barely enough to do that especially if you are committed to work or uni.

cheers

How long should you study for??? Maryland is making us take it after first year, so everything is still fresh in our head...

about 2 months... I wish I did it when I was a second or third year student! I'm sure I would have got above 95 easily 🙁

We are currently in review classes at Meharry and I'm studying whatever we did for that day (sections of biochem and phys for instance) then doing questions for each of those. We have self study time as well and I will break everything up into systems to do sort of like a quick review (i.e. the anatomy, microanatomy, physiology, pathology of the renal system) and do micro and dental anatomy alone. I'm am also reviewing dental decks and we have Kaplan review. One of my classmates is breaking the decks up into the ones she knows and the ones she doesn't and continuously reviewing the ones she doesn't know. We take the boards after first year as well so everything is still pretty fresh.
