To anyone who might know,
During my interview at BID, I was told Dr. Fischer would likely be retiring as chairman within 5-6 years. One of BID's biggest selling points was about the quality of teaching he provides and the help he can give you in getting a fellowship. If the incoming interns are not going to be chiefs until 7 years down the road (5+ 2 research), it seems they would lose out on the opportunity to operate with him, and on his help in finding the right fellowship. I was wondering if anyone else was told the same about his time left, and what anyone thought about how this will affect the program overall. Thanks in advance for any input and good luck with the match.
