Better version of what to say about time after graduation?

I could nto find any research position after since this August, so I do not have anything "pleasing" to say. However, I was babysitting for my close friends, for the last 3 months. Do you think, it's ok to say that?

look for somewhere to volunteer quick...at least tell them that youre doing something other than scratching your butt on the couch! thats what ive done...and tell them youre activley looking for a job right now...it doesnt have to be reasearch, just something youre interested in!
