I had a horrible experience with Steele Supply Company. I urge all medical students to boycott them.
I ordered, by telephone, a dissection kit, six boxes of exam gloves, and four sets of scrubs. I was very explicit about each of these: the dissection kit must have a scalpel handle, with two boxes of blades that fit; the gloves were to be the dark nitrile type that is resistant to formaldehyde, and the scrubs were for a 44 waist.
They screwed up on all three items, and failed to answer my emails when I protested. They sent me a dissection kit with no scalpel handle, although they billed me for the kit I wanted. This left me in the embarassing position of being in an anatomy class without a scalpel; I had to buy one from a graduating student, and of course it was for a blade size much larger than the 200 blades I bought from Steele, so I'm undersupplied in blades now. The gloves were regular latex, although their invoice showed that they sent me the ones I wanted, and the scrubs were so large that Steele said they had to be custom made. I could have fit three of me into them, and it cost me more to have them tailored than to buy them.
The company would not answer my emails when I complained immediately upon receiving the shipment here in Belize. This is a place you should not do business with, and I advocate the lawful action of consumer boycott against them.
