So suppose this happened to an older nontraditional applicant...

Right before applying to medical school an applicant decides to take some business classes at an online university because his employer is willing to pay for it.

This applicant begins taking classes while applying with TMDSAS. The applicant finishes his application and is about to finish his online courses. He is taking 2 courses and has A's in both of them. His GPA is subpar for a medical school applicant so he could use the A's but decides to submit application without including the online school information. The applicant interviews at multiple schools and takes 2 more online courses getting A's in both. The applicant gets accepted to multiple schools and matches to his #1 choice. The applicant now has to send in transcripts from all universities attended. The applicant now notices a problem... When he sends in his transcripts to the school there will be a new institution and new grades that were not there before... WHAT NOW???

The applicant is contacting TMDSAS and sending the other transcripts and will be sending all transcripts to the school he was accepted to.

Just curious if anyone knows of this happening before and curious as to what came of it?

is this person you

Why? It makes NO SENSE. Anyway, this applicant has no choice but to notify TMDSAS that he was taking classes during application and did not submit the transcripts, but they were all As. Then once TMDSAS has received the transcripts and everything is okay on their end, send them to the school.

This is odd. Why would you not include the A's? Anyways I think you can just add a term on the tmdsas app. You need to notify the school you matched to though. I don't anticipate a problem though Bc you got A's.
Just my 2 cents.

I'm pretty sure this is not a problem, as long as you didn't complete the classes before you submitted the application. I think you're approaching it the right way. Also it might be sketchy if you had like, C's, because it might look like you were trying to hide them, but I don't think it will be an issue with your A's. At least I hope not, because I did the same thing. I took a summer class at a new university for fun the summer in which I applied, but I didn't report it on AMCAS because, at the time I submitted my application, I was still within the add/drop period and wasn't 100% sure I was going to take it. I thought it would be more of an issue to fail to complete something I put down as current/future than it would to be like, oh hey I took this class at this other school while applying, here's the transcript. I'm not 100% sure but hopefully it will be fine as long as we're up front about it! :luck:

Yes the applicant is me...

My question is not, what should I do? I know what I am going to do. I am going to notify TMDSAS and then send all transcripts to both TMDSAS and the school. I was in the process of sending all transcripts to the school when I first really realized the potential problem.

Instead my question is, what will happen after I do this? I am sure that the school will be okay with my grades since I have A's and taking further courses is never a bad thing. However, I am more concerned with adding courses to TMDSAS this late.

Any insight/experience on this?

I would have never guessed who this applicant was if you didn't indicate it. 😎

If the applicant registered for the classes after he made the application, it should be fine. If he/she started them before and did not declare them... poor bastard!

The Big TMDSAS error was yours-- There is a section in TMDSAS for PLANNED coursework (and anything else you have planned school/volunteering/work-wise during the application cycle), so you were supposed to list the in-progress classes you were taking and anything else planned in that section and then send transcripts after each semester. However, if you email or call TMDSAS, they are very helpful and quick at responding and should help you out.
I have no idea how the school will react, but its your responsibility to contact them.

It's usually someone posting on behalf of "a friend" or "someone I know."

Yes I know the error was MINE. I have contacted TMDSAS already and they have been helpful. The application mistake was my own. I am prepared to face any repercussions, including denial of matriculation. I have waited this long, I can wait another year. I was just asking if anyone had prior experiences with this sort of thing.

I don't see how this would be a huge deal since you got A's. However, why did you wait until now to send in the transcript?

Accidental. I was unable to send when I was applying since I did not have any grades at the institution yet. After submitting application it just did not occur to me that this was needed. I mentioned taking the courses during my interview and I was planning on sending transcripts to school with all other transcripts. I didn't realize the potential problem really until sending all transcripts in.

I don't think I will have a problem. I talked to TMDSAS and they stated they will notify the school of the change. I don't think the school will have a problem with all of this. I was much more worried about any rules/regulations with TMDSAS that may affect my status.

I am obviously only another pre-med, but I bet you are fine. I had to send in my fall transcript to my accepted school even though I had already sent it to TMDSAS. I don't really think the schools look/care about grades after they review your file, unless you fail of course. Good luck :luck:
