Everyone is all throwing parties and stuff about this....

Hopefully not in New York this time around.
? Would it be cool with you if they blew up Miami?

Americans go into other peoples countries and piss them off, what do you expect. Your government is like that annoying kid with the stick who keeps poking everyone. Eventually people get sick of it. Just saying

They get sick of it and fight back. Then we let you get away with it and let you "think" you won. Then we drop in a few navy seals and they blow the top of your head off...
We win- just saying
Also Americans aren't the only ones messing around in other countries...
Our country is so badass we can go into any foreign country we feel like. These other countries can only do one of two things: nothing or like it.
The one time we did go to war, you tried to take over our country and we to this day, are the only nation to burn down the White House. Obviously you could take over us in a second, but pretty sure every other top nation in the world would declare war on the US
Ummmm, I'm not a history buff but Canada didn't do it, Britain did. There were no Canadian militia present at the burning of the White House during the War of 1812.
Let's pretend Canada did do it. That's the same kind of arrogance that some Americans throw in the face of the French for WWII. Not cool and kinda tacky.
Every country in the world would declare war on the US for invading Canada? Hmmmm.![]()
Of course you arent a history buff, you are american (im NOT trying to offend you with this, its a fact). You dont learn anything outside of the US that doesnt concern the US. Hence why most of your country cant point out England on a map.
Im just curious, how do you think Canada formed? We are a sister colony of England. The english didnt fight while people sat back and milked cows, of course we had military involved.
Anyway, im not going to argue about my own countries history with an American. The last 3 americans I met thought Canada had 1 time zone for **** sake
Please continue with the ridiculous pics of oSama
Winners get to write the history books...
USA! USA! USA!
Canada is our hat and as such we can throw it away at a whim like any other accessory.😉
Right on, live in your fantasy world
Got beef with the cubans or something?
All I will say is get out and travel the world. Then you tell me how smart and superior America is. A 2 week trip to Mexico all inclusive does not count. I wish this forum had more of a european, Australian, or more specifically UK presence. Too bad their pages on SDN are like one page
Anyway im not going to argue this. We will agree to disagree and I suppose each walk away smirking
As much as good ole' 'Murica has problems (which it has a ton), there isn't any other country I'd rather live in than the US.
I in all honesty hold similar sentiments. I've been many places in the world and even the bastion that is Europe fails to compare to the American lifestyle in my opinion. While Dr.C will contest this to the death, the quality of life in Europe and even Canada is significantly less than in the US and significantly more pricey.
If you had to choose a country other than the US, what would it be? I think I'd choose Canada, though my choice is based on one city, Vancouver.
a friends fb post "The perfect drink after finals, the Osama bin laden. It's two shots with a splash of water"
I've traveled to half of Europe ( Portugal, France, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, Ukraine, Russia, Slovenia, Poland, Netherlands, Germany, and Czech Rep.) as well as Canada. I've also traveled to South America and The Caribbean. I am also an immigrant from a European country. I am honestly just appalled at your predisposed opinion of Americans. I mean really now, you should really own up and admit that you have a preconceived notion of Americans which is simply wrong.

Australia, MelboUrne. Canada is too cold.
My notion might be exaggerated a bit, but based off my experiences my entire life that is how I see Americans. Will I always see them that way? Who knows I mean I will be living in the states come July for school. Some of the nicest people I know in my city happen to be from California.
Yes things are cheaper, much cheaper. Cars, booz, pretty much everything. Thats definitely one awesome thing about the US. Quality of life? Well thats questionable. The debt in the US is ridiculous and the health care system falls far below the standard of first world countries. Quality of life in terms of enjoyment? I can totally see most places being fun to live with all the energy and money spent on sports and other entertainment
Look... over my life I have been down to the US many many times. I have met many americans traveling as well (although not many of you guys, most dont travel). The majority of the time I meet people and they find out im Canadian, I get the STUPIDEST questions. I mean knowledge questions I would expect a 10 year old to answer.
For example, the last 3 Americans I met asked me if Canada had more than one time zone. If you dont know that Canada goes from West Coast to East Coast (just like the US, big shocker) you are ******ed. Two more on my plane back from Cali asked me if all we eat is french fries and mayonnaise for breakfast. Oh and dont even get me started about the typical "duuur so do you live in Igloos". My whole life I have been continually asked stupid questions like this, so yes its kind of hard to think of the average American as a scholar. (This is actually an opinion felt by many many people around the world) Should every american know everything about Canada? No, I dont think any Canadian expects that. Should you guys know more than you do? Yes, considering how large our border is and how close we are.
One final note: Before you go off defending America and trying to represent and make it look so wise, keep in mind anyone on this forum is a pre-med/medical student. If you are appalled of my view of Americans, wow you should try wearing my shoes. Think about the stupid questions/views I put it up with from you guys down South
PS, ya Australia was definitely racist when I was there, I noticed that right away as well
Oh and while Im getting called out on grammatical errors, its sYdney, not sidney
Eastern Canada has roughly the same winter as Buffalo or New York. So cold as hell. Several feet of snow etc. Western Canada barely gets any snow, its not cold at all.

This is debatable in all honesty for a number of reasons. But fundamentally there isn't a nation in the world where you'll have a higher chance of surviving after a major organ transplant, stroke, heart attack, or cancer. And while I will agree there are major faults, it is overall higher quality than many first world nations.

I had a Canadian once ask me if Miami was in New York State. Is this a good representation of everyone in Canada? Or maybe I should expand my sample and use random selection?

Again, small sample. I don't think educated people literally think you people live in Igloos. But you need to understand most people don't think much about Canada.. I mean.. you don't pay attention to a docile person who doesn't get in trouble right? You pay attention to the trouble makers like China or Russia or the Middle Eastern Nations. ( On average people will think more about those nations as opposed to Canada).
On the diet, well Americans who remember that Canada was a British territory, probably assume they have a horrible and tasteless diet like the British.
But again.. the opinion of the world is that Americans are on average all fat and dumb and annoying. Which is not true, but when your nation is always having wars and making others feel weaker, envy is going to always around the corner.

Look, I really don't want to appear as an "America is the best" type of person. I'm very happy I live hear and I have pride in my nation and our people. Obviously we have issues and obviously not all of us are geniuses. But the fact is that on average we're not very different.
What in particular do you feel you're putting up with from Americans?

They treat their Aborigines like the Europeans treat their Gypsies.
I don't believe a single person in the world will call it Sidney. I actually wouldn't ever want to live in Western Canada as I strongly despise rainy days. They for me are extremely depressing.
