I know this question gets asked a lot, but I’d really appreciate your insights! I haven’t been able to find clear answers.
I'm deciding between Binghamton University, Rutgers University(selected for Honors), and Northeastern University(first year in London) as a pre-med student and want to know which school would best prepare me for the MCAT, offer fair grading that won’t hurt my GPA for med school applications, and provide strong pre-med advising.
I know Northeastern is significantly more expensive, but if cost really wasn’t a factor, which school would prepare me best for med school?
Here’s what I’ve gathered so far:
I love all the campuses and student vibes, so that’s not a concern—just looking for insight on academics, grading, and med school preparation.
Would love to hear from current or past students! Thanks in advance!

Here’s what I’ve gathered so far:
- Binghamton has a strong neuroscience program but is highly competitive, making GPA management tough.
- Rutgers offers solid pre-med resources and MCAT prep, but weed-out courses, especially in chemistry, can be difficult.
- Northeastern has a great neuroscience program and co-ops that could provide valuable clinical/research experience, but I’m concerned about how co-ops might impact traditional coursework and med school prerequisites.
