I keep hearing its completely against Advisement to take ALL 3 SCIENCE COURSES TOGETHER.

Chem 1
Bio 1
Physics 1

How many of you have done it, will do it, or have any tips?

When I first went back to school and began the pre-med curriculum I took Chem 2, Bio 1, and Physics 1 my first semester. It is definitely doable.

I would say avoid it at all costs unless absolutely necessary, as it is somewhat of a risk. Good luck to you.

The one year programs all fit 8 semesters of premed into 3 semesters, summer, fall and spring. If the program you're doing is well established and has a good advising committee, its definitely doable. However if the program is not well organized, it can be quite a task to juggle the 3 science courses in one semester. The benefit of the one year courses is that the advisors try to make the professors coordinate things like testing schedule so that you are not overwhelmed with 3 tests in a week. Besides that, the curriculum itself is definitely learnable when taken all together at once.

I did it.
and I rocked it
but it was the worst year for me (stress wise)

If you're coming from a wicked strong undergrad performance, ie 3.7+ GPA, and you've taken plenty of math and maybe some science already, then you're set up to do what you have to do during prereqs:

1. Get straight A's
2. Master MCAT content (not the same as MCAT test prep, that's separate)
3. Get faculty recommendations

If you don't have great grades and plenty of math already, then you aren't set up to succeed. Taking some math and/or science at a CC to get ready for the prereqs would be a good idea.

Also: if you haven't started clinical volunteering yet, today would be a good day for that.

Best of luck to you.

thank you everyone.

I graduated with a Bachelors in Accounting, so I have a lot of math/english under my belt. Ive met the Calc, Stats, English requirements.

Cumulative GPA was like a 3.31 but the last two years were around 3.5-4.0, when i got my act together you know. =]

Im starting to volunteer this week, will be going everyday for 5 hrs a day. Then when school starts, will be volunteering a couple hours a week.
