Hey there, SDN Community!

I had a quick question about where I should take some classes. I would like to Study Abroad, and to do so, I would have to take some classes at a community college over the Summer. Would it affect my admissions chances at all if I took Orgo 1 and Bio 2 at a community college? Thank you for any and all advice!

As long you do well, I doubt it "really" matters. But it does look better if you take your core sciences at 4 year universities.

I believe there are certain schools that require certain pre-reqs to be from 4 year institutions, so be careful.

You might be able to find a four-year accredited state college near you. Admissions are the same as community college, but it looks a little bit better. If you go to UF as your username implies, Sante Fe is a state college and is a fine option imo.

Limiting your self to only a few schools that accept community college. I believe most schools will not allow you to useCC classes for prerequisites.
Actually, it's the other way around. Few schools reject community college credits. Most are fine with them.

How much of the applicant pool, aka your competition, takes core science classes at community colleges/unknown 4yrs? If you usually get As in university science classes but had to slum it at a CC for a quarter you'd probably be fine. Admissions officers know all the scams, if you get mediocre science grades at your university and start taking CC science classes to pad your gpa, good luck. Unless you are gunning for less selective private schools, then who cares..
