Pancreas produces: pancreatic amaylase, carboxypeptidase, chymotrypsin, lipase and trypsin...

What about PEPSIN??? it is activated by Zymogen which is secreted by PANCREAS....

Hence PEPSIN is also produced by pancreas Right???

Please explain...

Q12 from Kaplan Online Full test #3

pepsinogen/pepsin is release by the stomach

pepsin/mucos/hcl produced in stomach not pancreas

Zymogen just means an inactive protein/enzyme. So for pepsin its pepsinogen, which is cleaved by gastric acid to its active pepsin form.

Pepsinogen is made by the stomach's chief cells. It is converted to Pepsin in the presence of stomach acid, which is triggered by the release of gastrin, also from the stomach.
