My school offers evolutionary bio and cell bio as intro bio courses. I'm currently taking cell bio and am supposed to take evolutionary next fall, but it's mostly about evolution, animals, plants etc and not very useful for the MCAT. Med Schools require 1 year of bio, but does that mean intro bio or does that include upper level classes? I would prefer to take physiology (It's upper level at my school) than evolutionary bio.Would that count as the bio pre-reqs?

Depends on the medical school and the specific requirements that they have. Some soecifically require a year of introductory bio
And what does "introductory biology" mean? Some schools are more specific in that they put general biology or zoology, but most schools just say 1 year of introductory biology. That's a little vague, especially since my undergrad institution only offers 1 semester of introductory biology with the remaining biology series in botany and zoology. So, even if we do check each individual school, how should we interpret 1 year of "introductory biology".

Can we email admission before hand to double check?
