I am going over bio questions from DAT Achiever and it says that sperm cell does not contain an X chromosome. Is that true? OR I am going crazy. I thought that it could be X or Y. Please help.😕

Here is the exact q.well..you're completely right -- sperm can either be X OR Y. Which then combine with female gametes which are only X, to make either an XX or XY zygote.
So you are right, and Achiever is either wrong, in that they have overlooked this detail, or perhaps you're reading it wrong, and maybe the question or answer is actually referring to something else.

You are absolutely right. The explanation is wrong.I still think achiever is wrong. Just look at what they said: "Sperm cell -- does not contain X chromosome"
You're telling me that's true? It's not true - sperm cells CAN contain an X chromosome, or a Y.
However, I do give them credit for making you think. I think the point of this question is to realize that sperm cells are haploid and do not contain X AND Y chromosomes; they only contain one or the other.
So basically, achiever is 50% right, 50% wrong. The answer they give is correct. The explanation is wrong. Who cares, move on.
