The hydrolysis of ATP from ADP and inorganic phosphate

a. can drive cellular work
b. is an exothermic process
c. releases free energy from the hydrolysis of ADP
d. involves the hydrolysis of a sulfide bond
e. produces 2 ATP molecules for every 4 phosphate molecules

please someone explain.

the answer is a

Most of students including some instructor are confusing this part.
Bond formation = exothermic
Bond breakdown = endothermic

Then, why breakdown of ATP -> ADP + Pi release energy? Actually, breakdown ATP is endothermic process, but there are multiple process going on, so net results produce Energy (but still endothermic)

I hope this help!

The question should be written like this:

The hydrolysis of ATP form (not from) ADP and inorganic phosphate

The question doesn't even make sense, you can't hydrolyze ATP from ADP. Unless they are trying to say FORMS instead of from, in which case the answer makes sense. I missed that question too.
