Hi guys, are the questions on Topscore regarding classification fair game on the real DAT? I mean, are we supposed to know examples and characteristics of certain phylas of the animal kingdom? I mean, do you really have to know about Zommastigophora, Rhizopoda, Apicoplexa, Ciliophora, and Dinoflagellata? I'm in big trouble. The DAT is so rediculous if they're going to make us memorize such useless information. Thats not going to help us come better dentists. 😱

I got one or two classification questions asking very, very specific things. (I'm sure I got them wrong too. hehe) I guess it is fair game, but I'm sure if it's worth it.

good luck!

I did have a few classification problems. They were SOOO specific, that it's probably not worth reviewing for. I think those were the 'weed out' questions, (if you know what I mean). Just know the basics of classification, and hopefully you could make an educated guess.

If one read the classification chapter in Kaplan's review notes could he get those questions, in your opinion?

probably not, but trust me, if you get classification - it's either you know it or don't

and if you do get classification, you won't get more than two, i think

i had two classification problems, one about echinoderms, and another sooooo specific, that i had no clue at all, and i just guessed
