I wonder if there is any physiology textbook that i might read, which could help me with english and also to refresh whatever it is that i need for bio? I took mammalian physiology course last year and we used Vander,Luciano, that book is 700pages long. I remember that for nervous system we had great lectures, so i wouldnt even read that, it's pointless. For cardio&respiratory, i read the textbook but right now i remember absolutely nothing, and i feel it would be lame to reread the same thing over. For digestive/renal i didnt read the textbook and didnt have good notes.

That textbook wasn't difficult to read or anything, but it was still a textbook and had a bit too many redundant diagrams and explanations. So i wonder if there is anything better that i could use to cover physiology at least at the same level as that text. That textbook for example broke cardiovascular into about 5 sections, and i'd prefer just 1 big section so that i could organize my own notes.

And any other textbooks you would recommend for various sections of bio(assuming you're not in a rush to prepare for mcat)? Thanks

what about this book: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/06...?me=ATVPDKIKX0DER&no=283155&st=books&n=283155

i see that it is short and has many review questions(which i would of course replace/supplement with ek bio), but does it cover strictly general physiology, or it's like a medical book that is filled with useless drugs and other things we dont need to know?

I've always liked Campbell but it is very long, too. The real nuts and bolts could be found in Kaplan class' version of bio.

My physio class used Silverthorn (excellent book) ... but review books should be sufficient IMO.
