I was at B&N this morning shopping for my friend's birthday present.
I was just looking around and saw some prep books for NBDE part I. I was just browsing through these book out of curiousity and saw that most books had very detailed steps of various biochemical syntheses.

Are students expected to memorize these steps for each synthesis for NBDE or is it more of understanding the big picture problem?

I didn't have to memorize all the details for my undergrad courses, so I am just curious to know what NBDE expects from dental students. Thanks!

well, in NBDE they wont ask that wht's the 1st step of this cycle or last step of that cycle bt a question about any enzyme of any step eg its action, regulation, effects of various chemical mediators & hormones on its action etc. so u actually need to know more than just memorize the steps.
