I am in the process of reading the Cliffs AP book and am trying to learn this biological diversity chapters... however, due to so many terminologies and details in this chapter, I can't seem to remember anything that I have read in this chapter...

Can someone please suggest a better way to memorize this chapter and also suggest some useful resource to study this...

Thanks.

Since it's almost impossible to make connections in taxonomy to memorize things, I suggest you just read through that chapter repeatedly, like at least once a day. It will take you like 30 minutes a day 🙂

Later, when you encounter those questions, your mind will remember it.

I wouldn't spend too much time worrying about Taxonomy- I only had one taxonomy question - so if you're weak in another section, I'd focus more on that, and just look over taxonomy a day or two before the test to have it fresh in your mind. And the question I had on taxonomy was pretty easy too, it was about earthworms.

Thanks vicviper and sfoksn...

I have one more question... i know not many people on this forum recommend reading Campbell...of course expect sfoksn... seriously man who did u read that book everyday...

seems like I might be able to spend just 2 days going through that book.. i know it is too detailed and reading that solely depends on the individual... I would like some advice whether spending 2 days and skimming through the entire book is worth it or not...on the other hand I can re read the AP Cliffs...

Thanks.

Given that Campbell is such a dense textbook, I don't think anyone would recommend spending 2 days to "read" it. Skimming MIGHT be worth it just to get a good idea of the general topics, but you probably won't be able to soak much info in as there is just too much. Assuming you have retained most of the basic concepts from your gen bio class, I'd suggest going through ap cliffs and destroyer, like I am doing right now. In my opinion, a textbook like Campbell is like an atlas for you to search specific topics, not a book you'd want to read word for word from front to back... not in 2 days anyways.
