Hello,

I am a student in a biostatistics course. Because we are to decide on a research project that is due in about a month, I want to look at the variation on the number of medical school candidates per state. I want to know a few questions that I can address in my research project: Why does California have the highest number of applicants per consecutive year? What state has the lowest number of applicants? I would really appreciate if you guys have any suggestions for me. I tried Google, but I could not find anything relevant. I thought this is a pretty interesting project to do being a student in a biostatistics course. Thanks. Take Care.

I'd imagine it's because California has the highest population.

Thank you very much for the input

that sounds like a terrible idea for a research project...be a little bit more creative.

No kidding. What is your hypothesis? That the number of medical school applicants per state varies with 1. number of residents and 2. average income per household? If you decide to do this project, make sure you run it by your professor before you get any significant work done. Good luck 👍
