Is it too much to write explicitly in the secondary essays "This is why I am fit in with your motto/mission/theme" ?

To be fair, the experiences I am listing DO in fact fit in and I want to drive the point home... but is this too much a$$ kissing?

I wouldn't say that but not because it's as$ kissing. It just sounds too desperate (and "am fit in" isn't grammatically sound). As for the phrase as$ kissing, you probably need to outgrow that -- it tends to be a phrase used by people on SDN who simply don't want to "play the game".
