how long do you wait after a transfusion before getting hg/hct. homeostasis is the best scenario but I never wait 60 minutes, 10 is enough especially when you want to monitor the levels in a gi bleed.

If they're actively bleeding, you don't need a repeat CBC to know it...unless you're not paying attention.
