So BnB looks nice and shiny now. Physeo's definitely been giving it a run for its money, lol. But Dr Ryan wins because his site looks cooler now and he's got freaking step 2 videos! If they're as good as his step 1 stuff, we might be able to throw OME in the trash.

M3s/4s, what do you think? They've got cards, neuro, psych, critical care, and renal up so far. Looks like he's missing a good amount of subjects. And I agree, he should just divide them by rotations instead.

i dont see any GI vids up. the thumbnails from the new vids looks like some slides are definitely re-used...looks underwhelming.

Thanks for catching that. I don't see a problem with him reusing slides; I'm pretty sure there'll be some good overlap, depending on the subject.

Wow that must have happened yesterday because I was just on BnB two days ago and it looked the same.

The most important question is this: will I have to keep logging in every time I am idle for more than 5 minutes? That was probably the most annoying thing about BnB.

Actually, there is a stay logged in button now.
 
yeah ill probably wait to buy until i hear some reviews. some of the new content looks great, some of it looks heavily re-used. (just looking at the sample vids...the antipsych drugs one flagged my attention)

was a huge user of it for step1...but worried that too much of it will be the same video i've already seen before. (lots of videos curiously have the same length of their step1 counterparts) not saying their not relevant, nor terrific videos...but just seems inefficient for someone whos watched them multiple times already, and wish i could parse these out and figure out what's really new.

...that being said, ill be the first to buy if i hear that there's oodles of new content.

Yeah the site HTML or JavaScript w/e is taking ages to load on my computer. My connection is otherwise alright on my end so I think B&B hasn't optimized their site well. It'd be nice to not get kicked off in the middle of a video because of inactivity too lol

Digging the new colors on the videos tho. Was never a fan of the tan color scheme

And that concludes our module on site feedback

OME should already be thrown in the trash. And I doubt it’ll be worth it all you need for step 2 is uworld and anki

It's funny, I've heard a lot of people say this about OME. I've also heard that it's clutch for an introduction to the wards.

The biggest use of OME is to help put students lacking confidence at ease the weekend prior to a rotation. Otherwise, it's pretty bad even considering it is free. The mistakes are infuriating.

Why do people act like Dustyn's the second coming then, lol. Might be because he was the only one doing it. You get some leeway if you're the only one providing a service, I guess

I’ve only used a couple clinical videos but I thought they were great. The preclerkship stuff was really good. Not sure what the hate is about.

Honestly try a couple of videos and stick to it if you like it. Some of my classmates liked it others didn't. I absolutely hated it. I found it too superficial and outdated. I guess you can use it to "prime" yourself of a topic before you jump into the real resources (UWORLD/Anki). I didn't have time in 3rd year to do anything but questions and cards.

I think it's first mover advantage, primarily. Aside from his ****head comments in his intern guide, he seems funny and shows his face every video which builds attraction. Imagine seeing Sattar's face every video. It would be heaven.

Uworld + anki + 1 rotation specific resource (ex. BRS Peds) and actually learning from patients during the day is the maximum I can physically do while keeping myself somewhat sane

I bought a week's trial on the 8th and can't access the new vids now, damn. Hope it gets back up in a day or two since my test is soon!

A friend of mine knows a guy who got kicked out of med school because two students from a different med school took a Facebook post of his out of context and started a twitter trend and his school caved to the pressure. Not to derail the thread, but I just can’t get over how some people are.

I'm telling you, bro. I'm shocked by the amount of people that act this way. Like I found out that it's actually common...for your CLASSMATES...to REPORT you...to your FREAKING admin, like how terrible of a person do you have to be?

Yeah, I pay for my outside resources and feel strongly about that, but there's no way I'd jeopardize a classmate's career over it.

Tbh my med school hasn't had this sort of drama. Makes me wonder what's going on at other programs.

Yeah, as Matthew astutely pointed out, they're just gunning people down. They probably use the same pirated resources and downloaded everything before reporting and causing it to get taken down.

Ha definitely not perfect. Definitely has its flaws, but I will say that the bad stuff is pretty minor in comparison to the good stuff.

You mean "how terrible a person do THEY have to be", right? Because ratting out your classmates for trivial offenses is pretty low.
