Which of the following substances forms a molecular crytalline solid?
A. diamond
B. table salt
C. gold
D. ice
Answer: D
Can someone explain why this is the answer?
This question seems weird. Wikipedia says that diamond, table salt, and metals form crystalline solids as well. What's the source?

They don't form molecular crystalline solids.

Don't confuse INTRAmolecular and INTERmolecular bonds.
As Deadlifts pointed out the keyword here is 'molecular'. Only ice is composed of molecules that are the the building units in a crystal.
Diamond: C atoms
NaCl: ions (Na+ and Cl-)
Gold: Au atoms
Ice: water molecules
