whenever i study, i get really bored. i just try to finish whatever i'm studying just to get it done, which doesn't really help me. how do u guys stay focused? 🙁

I go to the library put on my sony headphones that block all outside sound and focus on the book in front of me. This way I can study well for about an hour, and I can squeeze another hour of semi decent studying. Basically, just try to effectively study for an hour or two a day. You'll be amazed at how much you'll retain.

This has worked for me in the past, but I don't know how it'll pan out with interviews looming.

watch tv for an hour or two, lay in bed and stare at the ceiling, eat something, check email, anything but studying. then when exam time rolls around i start studying.

Just study somewhere with minimal distractions. So let go of your keyboard and go to a library.

Hmm..I think everyones philosophy towards studying is special. For me, I have to just do it. I know that sounds simplistic..but that is what works for me. I have to make myself do it and then it taked about 15-20 min for me to just get absorbed in the material. Next thing I know, it's two hours later.

Studying is not exciting unless it's a topic you really enjoy...much like working out, the hardest part is just starting. 😉

I almost want to clean today!! That's how much I don't want to study! I graduate in December and I've had 3 interviews so far and now all I want to do is nothing until Feb 1...the date us Texans find out what school we matched to.

Plus, I just got Sims 2 for my birthday from my bro and I would much rather play that then study histology or start researching for my senior seminar. Ugh! I feel you!

Don't touch sims ! It's pure crack . What keeps me motivated ? The fear of failing an exam

Techno/Dance Music and some Coffee usually lets me study for ~4hours straight with pretty good retention rate. 👍

Finally, someone who knows what he's talking about. I can't believe the number of mistakes I made in organic chemistry II labs because of my hot teammate. No wonder I decided to go to a different med school

sorry i was tired last night and couldnt think of anything more helpful to say, but since i commuted to school, i used a lot of the time between classes to study. in the wee hours of the morning (i had to get there early in order to avoid traffic) i used to sit in my car and do problems or read. if you have to stay at school and you have nothing else to do, it kind of forces you to study. oh and i suggest that you study by yourself. i could never study with my friends cause all we did was talk.

I get bored out of my mind if I just read my notes, so when I study I go through them with a highlighter and mark important points. It keeps me from glossing over anything and, since I'm kind of doing something, I feel like less of a zombie.

I like to do massive amounts of drugs and then study. OK, maybe it's just coffee. Seriously though, I avoid studying by reading comic books. Then, I realize it's study or fail (or get God forbid a B). Then I start reading and next thing you know, I feel interested in what I'm doing. I think we're all in this because when you get right down to it, we're really interested in this stuff. It's really pretty cool stuff to know.

You know what I'm bored with right now? Waiting for interview invites! 😡
