i had the same concern just a few days ago when my loan was not certified. they said if two days prior to the settlement date my loan has not been certified then i have to ask the lender to fax a letter to the student accounting services/financial services office saying that my loan is approved.it should also have your student id number on the letter. i suggest you call the office and confirm once again for yourself.good luck and see ya soon at BU! 🙂

Thanx for the info, blacktooth. Actually, I called up the BU financial aid office today and couldn't get through. Had to leave a message. Called up CitiBank but they said they don't send such faxes. Was a bit confused.

Anyway, I am not panicking yet. I mean, a couple of people have been accepted after me so they must have the same issues. Will call the office tomorrow.

Hey,

To all people headed to BU, have you guys had your loan certified by OSFS? I still haven't, and no one is picking up the phone at OSFS. I called the bursar's office and they said that only OSFS can help me at this stage. Since the settlement deadline is the 14th, was wondering if anyone else is in the same boat?

If you're a hard working brainiac then you should have no worries girl. You can do whatever you want. But if you think you're not nerd-material kinda person, then I'm not sure if tackling 3rd year and NBDE part 1 will be the best thing to do. NBDE needs a lot of time and concentration, so make sure if you can give NBDE all the attention it needs while you're in 3rd year. If you think you can't then that solves the problem you mentioned in your last question.

I received my BU acceptance thru regular mail this saturday. I attended the interview on 27th Oct. Very surprised and pleased to receive the decission so early.

I have seen that there is not a thread for posting BU acceptance alone. So, I am starting this one.

I am not from Boston and dont know much about securing a loan or where to live etc.. I would appreciate if anybody can post such info.

I have got about 4 yrs work experience in India. but have not joined any dentist here in US.


Can someone please let me know if I have any chances of getting into BU?..I am worried about my GPA and having no work experience here. I was told by a friend tht having a recco from a dentist here in US matters more than wht u get from your dental school.
Did anyone having stats similar to me get in Bu?
Any help is most appreciated.

BU looks into each and every aspect , ie ,ndb scores ,experience in dentistry ,toefl score and gpa ,if one is lacking u have to make up for the other
GPA is not just the final word in ur case ,your ndb scores speak for your gpa,so u wouldnt have any problem with your gpa , but your experience in dentistry in usa might be ofcourse one thing u have to look into as a matter
of fact would be of more importance for gettting in boston .this is based on my experience with boston ,so try finding a job or volunteer , you would be good to go 👍

I also had the same doubt i.e., if they inteview a candidate once, will they just not interview another time or is the candidate ineligibile to apply in the future with better scores... One of my friends called the BU admissions office and itseems they said that its nothing like that ... we can reapply with better scores...
Kindly why dont you just call them once and see what they tell... Also please post a message here what they have told you... it will be very helpful information for all...

NDB- 94
GPA-4.0
TOEFL- result awaited
NO WORK EXP IN US/INDIA- just graduated in july this yr, do u think they wud consider this????
