so i was wondering if there were any of you out there who already went to an interview at BU and could tell me what the schedule like. they're pretty vague about it and just say it's 8am-3pm for the whole thing. and are the interviews themselves generally relaxed? or are there a lot of crazy questions?
anyone hear any good news from them yet??

So you get there between 7:30 and 8, there is a little breakfast out, from 8-9 they give you a presentation about the school, then you either get an interview from 9:15-10 or 10:15-11. For the time you're not in an interview you have an open discussion with all the other students not at an interview and a faculty member. Then at 11 you go to lunch with students for an hour. Then from 12-12:30 you get a housing and financial aid presentation, and from 12:30-1:30 is the tour. At 1:30 the wrap-up presentation starts. We were out by 2, but it said on the schedule we'd be there till 2:30. The itnerviews are generally relaxed, a coupel people on my interview day reported having ethical questions. They gave one round of acceptances in january, and all of the rest will be in mid march.

the interview is usually conversational and not stressful. the interviewer will probably ask why bu? why medicine? in addition, you likely have to discuss an ethical dimlemna and possibly talk about US healthcare. if you want to see more information from those who have interviewed check out the interview feedback database:

good luck!

also does anyone know the number of acceptances they give out vs number of interviewed (ie USnews info.. 😛)

I think it ends up being around 40% accepted for the total interview cycle...the dean of admissions said that they interview around 1000 people from october until march, give out a few acceptances in january and accept most of the class in march.

yeah i think i remember someone saying they usually give out 350-400 acceptances out of their 1000 interviewees. and 2/3 of the class will come in march.

:luck::luck: on the interview! PM me if you have any specific questions.

haha well it's good to know that i have a future spouse. I used exam krackers audio osmosis and LOTS of practice questions/tests to study. haha the secret to my volunteering--i actually like it. I started when i was 13 with my ambulance corps youth squad because it was fun, but i didn't figure out i wanted to go to medical school till i was 20. Thanks for the compliments!
