School 1: UNE
Pros:
  • Beautiful clinic
  • 100% board pass rate
  • Smaller class size
  • Cheaper resident options
  • Price
Cons:
  • Didn't like the campus
  • Externship options
School 2: BU

Pros:
  • Close to home
  • Friendly environment
  • Home feel
  • Beautiful clinic and simulation lab
  • Felt more connected to the school
  • Medical building rather in separate buildings like UNE
Cons:
  • Expensive
  • rent
  • Iffy on the board pass rate
  • Not sure if it is the best area
I was trying to get away from thinking about cost, as cost is 80,000$ cheaper, however, I really felt at home in Boston. They have a larger class size then UNE, and I am worried about if I should trust my gut, or look more into the different schools. When I went to UNE, I did not like the campus and it felt like undergrad. The only thing I really liked was the clinic, and I did not get to see a lot of it. I know my reasoning is a lot of aesthetic, but for the most part, they are academically the same. I only saw the issue with the board pass rate for BU, but I am a good student and know that the boards are up to the student to put in the effort as well. I am not too concerned about the money aspect because I just want to be happy more than worrying about costs, but I liked BU better, but with all this information I honestly do not know what to even look at anymore since I am so confused. I did get accepted to Tufts as well, however, apart from the name and reputation of the school, I did not like it a whole lot. thank you!!

Everyone is going to say go to the cheaper school which there is a clear option. However, it seems like you already know which school you like better. At BU you'll be closer to friends and family and it sounds like you are familiar with the area already. Also, UNE is a very new program so they don't have the alumni network and reputation that BU will offer.

UNE, the externships actually really prepare you for the real world. 80k is pretty crazy.....I agree with you on the campus part. But its pretty central to fun cities like Boston, NY, etc

The buildings are separated at UNE but you're really in only 2 or 3 of them. This semester we only had class in 2 different buildings and it's nice to get up and move after hours of lecture.
When do you get integrated into the clinic at BU? That should be a consideration too.

I also was accepted to BU and UNE and am happy with my decision
