Hey guys,

I know BR has solid physics passages but sometimes I find things that are wrong with the book (obviously no book/resource is perfect). In particular, the fluids and the electrostatics chapters of the BR books were weak because in the fluids I feel as though some of the covered topics were completely unnecessary and in the electrostatics I felt as though not enough vital topics were covered (some skipped completely) and the topics that WERE covered weren't explained well or in depth.

I was wondering for the chapters that can be improved in the BR, which is a better resource, a textbook, NOVA, or TPR to supplement BR? Thanks a lot! If you pick other, please specify!

Physics is my weakest subject so I got the BR book bc of all the hype on SDN. I defl don't think that they live up to all the hype. I just finished the entire phsyics book this week and still don't feel like I am 100% comfortable with the material.

I took the MCAT previously and physics was still my weakpoint I studied with TPR and I remember it making everything CRYSTAL CLEAR. I decided to re-read the entire TPR Physics book and do the associated homework before finishing phase II of BR physics.

Hope this helps!

Thanks Merissa! Yeah, I have the BR book and I'm 2-3 days away from finishing it but I realized that it was missing some important stuff (especially in the Physics Book II) and the general sentiment is that NOVA/TPR are also great but just wanted to decisively know which out of the two is better so I don't have to waste time reading 3 books when I only have to read 2. Your opinion definitely helps!

I'm wondering what the results will be as well. I have the EK study package but a friend heard I was taking the MCAT and asked me if I wanted to borrow his BR physics books. Of course I said yes. However, I already have access to TPR online info and I have my EK passages. I'm clearly not going to be able to finish everything before the time I intend to take the exam so I don't know if BR is so godly that I should just drop everything else and use that for my physics studying.

I opened the books.. they don't look too special.

Guys,

pick one company and use all of their stuff.

Honestly, if you do all the BR stuff and then do the 8 AAMC tests, there will be no holes in your game.

If you want extra practcie then Nova or TPR is good, if you want discretes use EK.

Best?

Best is a myth that people who haven't prepped like to throw around. The best stuff is the stuff you use diligently.

Work through all of BR and pick anything else, probably not a textbook. Passages are typically best but if you just want to fill in concepts then EK will be better with discretes.
