Do you guys feel safe leaving luggage at hotels... I'm bringing my laptop, and I don't know if that's a good idea

Is it awkward to bring a large suitcase and a backpack to the interview?

I've seen people at all of my interviews with luggage. You can call and check at the school, but at least at the one's I've interviewed at the admissions office has had a spot for luggage storage.

Stick with a carry on (not a large suitcase). The last thing you want to deal with is your luggage getting lost. Keep your stuff with you at all times.

bring your luggage to the interview with you, it isnt weird at all, and the schools almost always ahve a designated closet to put your stuff in.

i also agree to keep everything carry on. lost luggage would be a nightmare.

I take it you guys walk around with your suit in a garment bag right? :scared:

I feel like it'd be such a hassle to do that! Especially if you're taking the metro/train/any type of public transportation

not me. I put half of it at the bottom of my suitcase as im packing, put all my other stuff in the middle, then fold it over (did that make sense?). Its so there isnt a hard crease in the middle.

i mostly just didnt want to spend the moeny for a garment bag, and didnt want the hassle of having more than 1 bag.

I did, but I also drove myself to all my interviews so there weren't any public transportation hassels.

haha I also have a bag that folds over.. but I can't use it as carry on since it's too big =(

You would be surprised what you can take as a carry-on. My garment bag also functions as my bag with my other clothes also, and has my shoes and a whole bunch of stuff. It is about the size of two "standard" roll-ons, and the only people who do not let me take it on the plane are the tiny planes with the propellers.

Also, if you attempt to take something as a carry-on and they decide that you can't, they do it at the gate (rather than the main bag check), and you're basically guaranteed that it will make it on the plane if they check your bag at the gate.
