General question:
How many people do bring their spouse to at least some of the interviews, and what type of message does it bring. Does it seem that you are more serious about moving there, or using it as a mini-vacation.

Are places actually offering to fly in spouses? 😱 That would be very suprising to me.

It's totally appropriate to bring a spouse to any social or informal activities associated with your interview but I wouldn't bring them to the actual interview day. I don't think it's a pro or con. I met many spouses at interview dinners but none at the actual interview.

I took my wife, daughter, and son to all of my interviews. However, I did not take them to the hospital with me for the actual interview. In discussions, it did come out that I had my family with me at that time. One thing I would do is ask whoever I was interviewing with where the best places to live in the city are. They understood that my wife came with me to look at real estate. If you do it diplomatically, you should have no problem letting them know that your wife/family are with you and are interested in living there.

If there are social events tied to interviews, I took my family to them--this is definitely appropriate.
