Hi all, I gave the second addition of BRS Path to my younger sister who is studying for Step I. Does anyone know whether there are significant differences between the 2nd and 3rd editions?

Would you recommend she go out and buy the 3rd edition?

Thanks!

The difference between editions 3 and 4 is rather minimal, but I haven't seen a copy of edition 2. Physiology is rather bread and butter so I don't think that edition 2 would be lacking.

I think there was a mix up here...the OP was asking about BRS Path.

yeah i would be interested in an answer to this too - i have the 2nd edition of brs path

I used BRS Path 2nd edition to study for my exam last June - I never compared it to the 3rd edition, but I didn't find anything that was outright incorrect. There was 1 spot where I thought it would probably have been updated -- I can't remember exactly what it was, but it was a disease where the molecular mechanism is now known but it wasn't at the time the book was published. Not really a highly tested thing, and I think it was something that was covered in FA and USMLE World. I think the 2nd edition is a very good resource - I would guess that most of the changes for the 3rd edition are minor/cosmetic.
