So, all you step 1 guru's I have a question for you. Which is better, BRS, or rapid review? I'm only asking because I'm really have a hard time getting thru the BRS path, and want to know if I should buy something else, like rapid review that may be more user friendly. Your advice, and help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Docsri

I am currently using rapid review and I really like the format. It is concise, important material is bolded in the margins. I have heard that some people don't like the questions on the cd, I haven't gotten that far yet, but I really like the book itself.

These are the same questions used at Goljan's Kaplan reviews.

I know it's a little late, but his 2006 edition will have 100 additional questions, and 200 color images.

I used brs for class, but i listened to is audio and did rapid review for step 1. i definitely liked rapid review better. it goes great with the audio and is solid prep for step 1

BRS is better than Rapid Review in my opinion. It has more prose and is more complete. To me, Goljan uses an outline form that is very difficult to follow in his book. His notes he distributes are much easier to follow. However, both sources have holes of information. First Aid is actually a better resource than both in terms of high yield pathology concepts. A combination of all will work well for you.

The new version of RR will be a duplicate of the notes he gives out. The information in the old version is the same as the notes, however.

hey thanks so much Pox, that is exactly what I wanted to know!! I am definatley trying to use both BRS, and FA.

Where do you get that this edition is coming out in 2006? Saunders isn't backing it yet and neither is Amazon. I'm afraid I'm going to have to call B.S. He just released his last edition in 2004.

I currently have a portion of the 2006 edition. Dr. Goljan is giving it to us as he writes it, since they serve as our class notes. He told us it will be released this summer.
