Hello!

While I'm still waiting to hear from Harvard for their SM2 in Epi, I figured that I would start looking at my options. I also feel like I'm a bit of a stretch for HSPH.

I've been accepted to both Pitt and BU for their MPH in Epidemiology. Which school, in your opinion, has a stronger program? I'm visiting both of them next week and talking to a few professors in their departments. I'm really interested in infectious disease and genetic epidemiology.

Thank you very much for your advice!

I wouldn't necessarily say that ID epi is a strength of BU's. I know that is one area where the department is trying to get more faculty. One person you may wish to speak to there is Sheri Stuver, as her work is along the ID line (immuno work, I think). I'd say that BU's strength is in study design and methods, perinatal and reproductive health, and social epi.

One of my favorite people there is Ann Aschengrau. She works in environmental and prenatal epi. She was my advisor and mentor while a MPH student.
