I am trying to find a 2 bedroom apartment (or condo) in a very safe location (i guess, north of South Campus, (but not too far from the med school)) and where heat is included in the rent. The rent price range about $800 - $1200 for 2 bedrooms. Not a run-down place. Ideally, a 10 month lease, as well.
Any ideas?

When I lived there a few years ago, I lived on Deleware ave across from Millard Fillmore Hospital. I had a nice spacious place with heat included for $650. The two bedrooms were around $750 or so at my building. There were nicer ones available if you wanted to spend more. I had a bunch of friends in med school at UB who lived right by me. It also has all the elmwood bars, restaurants, and shops close which is very convenient. I know it is not north of south campus, but I liked that area a lot better.

Good luck.

Living north of south campus is boring as hell. Move downtown instead where you can walk to everything that you would want to do in buffalo (as well as walking to several of the hospitals you'd end up rotating at). The traffic in Buffalo is so little that you can get to the school in like 10 mins from downtown anyways. You can get a nice 2BR in a high-rise at either end of those price ranges. I'd recommend one of the following:

The Westbrook - http://www.thewestbrook.com/

The Mayflower - http://www.bmgapt.com/the-mayflower/

The Ambassador

All those places are within walking distance to all the places you want to be on Elmwood or in Allentown (and even Chippewa if the weather is nice). Close enough to walk to Buffalo General Hospital, Roswell Park Cancer institute, Womens and Childrens Hospital of Buffalo, and Millard Fillmore Gates. I believe all of them have all utilities included in their prices. They are all nice places with rooftops you can hang out on in the summer (with the Westbrook probably being the nicest).

I currently have a place on delaware across from the forest lawn cemetary for 680, and am going to be moving out of it soon. If interested you can PM me, but also, there are leases up and down delaware across the cemetary all the time. I would just take a drive by and check it out or look it up at buffalo. com and look for apartments there.

Also on Elmwood by Panos there are some places really inexpensive.

Hey - for those looking for housing in Buffalo!

I'm trying to move out before I start studying for Step 1...

The apartment is on Huntington Ave. right off of Hertel Ave. so its about a four minute drive to UB SOUTH CAMPUS, perfect for professional school students!

Its 2 bedroom 2 full bath (both have tubs) and is on two floors so you and your room mate essentially have your own living spaces. Kitchen is updated with a ceramic stovetop, new dishwasher and wood cabinets. Huge open living area with a remote controlled ceiling fan. There is tons of storage space, the upstairs bedroom has a giant walk in closet (seriously you could put a bed in it), both bedrooms are big enough for queen size beds and can fit dressers/side tables/desks as well. The downstairs has wood floors and huge ceilings and windows with tons of light. There is also a living space upstairs which we have made into a study area with a long table and a giant white board.

There is a secure parking lot with ample space in the back of the building and a laundry room also in the building. The building is owned and managed by Buffalo Management Group- http://www.bmgapt.com/school-house-lofts-on-huntington/.

Can be available for May 1st or sooner.

The rent is $1145 a month and does not include utilities.
This is also for a 15 month lease ( I am moving out early and need to sublet the last few months)
