have you had any contact with the admissions office lately?
 
About 3-4 weeks ago I talked to barbara and she confirmed I was still in the top third, that's about all she could really say..

Nothing here yet either.. Starting to think that its really going to come down to the couple weeks before but I think several people should get in... Gonna keep my head held high because I did my best I could.... Out of our control now so well see what is meant to be..... Good luck everyone we need to hear some good news soon!!!!

someone just got in off of the UB waitlist, it's updated on predents, "amherst", got in 2 days ago, happy for him, was that anyone here with a different screen name...?
 
Aw good luck you guys. I really want to go to Buffalo also. I was accepted to their early assurance program but I have to keep a 3.7 GPA for my next 2 semesters and get a 20 AA/20 PAT/20 RC on the DAT this winter...

so much pressure, may not end up getting in or even waitlisted at the end...but good luck to you guys. seems like a lot of worthy candidates here have been forced to wait ;/ I too, am waiting for DAT study time to see if I even have a chance...

application complete late august
interview invite early september
interview in early novemeber
waitlisted december 1st
OFFERED ACCEPTANCE JULY 20, 2010!!!!! whoop whoop

i was in the "top third" of the waitlist the entire time very excited everyone, you know i will be pulling for all those veterans of this forum as well! 👍😀

Congrats Cellbio!! i jsut applied this cycle and UB is my top school so i've been stalking this thread hoping for you and everyone else who was anxiously waiting! 😀

One week, my hopes are high...UB is my dream school and even if I dont get in Ill do whatever it takes
 
All4dental, did you not get into any other schools? like will u be going to somewhere else if UB doesn't work out??

also ive been told the class is full (i know that we have heard that before), but everyone is registered etc....

im pulling for at least one more person to get off the waitlist from this thread! goodluck

Thanks cellbio, again Congratulations on getting in this year!! 🙂 Thanks for keeping your fingers crossed for us, I'm dying to get in this year. If not I will do a masters program, but of course, I would much rather start now! Like you All4dental, UB is my top choice and I'll do whatever it takes to get in, hopefully some of us get some good news in the next week!

yeah idk if it is going to happen for anyone, i hope it does but if it does it may be on Wednesday cause orientation starts Thursday
 
I thought it started Wednesday....no? What's happening Wednesday then? maybe that's just the transcripts due date....? What day does everyone meet for the 1st time?
 
everything is due wednesday but orientation does not start until thursday 🙂
 
cool, well somebody told me not to lose hope because thinking about it any other way doesn't make sense 😉 lol

can't lose hope now...I've been hoping since December 2nd, no point in stopping now!
 
plus, there's always a last minute shuffle between all the dental schools, people giving up seats and getting into their top choice and giving up seats and getting into their top choice (or more favorable choice) and so on and so on.... I can dream can't I? lol
 
minotour I'm just wondering why did you only applied to 3 schools?

With your stats and DAT, I'm sure that you would've got into dental schools if you applied to 10+.

I hope you get off the waitlist SOOOON!
 
Geez, RedDevil, I realllly appreciate you taking time to say that 😉 I have thought about that but really thought I would get into Buffalo my top choice, and that's where my heart is still set for next cycle. I did submit my new AADSAS app on July 2nd, fully complete, and applied to 12 schools this cycle. I was very smart about the choices, private schools that were OOS friendly and would accept my CC credits (only have like 6 for pre-req's but wanted to avoid any pitfalls). So here's looking forward to a successful future cycle if nothing this week. Any other opinions are welcome (as long as they're nice, haha)

I'll update my info on the new predents as soon as it's available.
 
Good idea trying harder this time, I think that will pay off for you but dont feel bad if most schools dont even give you the time of day.. Last cycle i applied to 12 and only got 2 interviews...But I think your stats are slightly better than mine. I only applied to 7 this time because some of the schools I applied to last time like I said didn't even acknowledge my application even being there..Plus in Getting into UB with you next yrr if not tomarrow!!

Well I'm assuming if someone shows up for orientation this week but not for the 1st day of class next week, they would go to the waitlist still don't you think? Maybe is that the last day for a call....?
 
you HAVE to be there for orientation unless someone dies during orientation i think the chances are SLIM, if you don't hear by the end of today i would not count on it...the class list is still full
 
I think chances are very slim for us getting in but I still tend to agree with Minotaur... If someone were not to drop out during the first couple days I would assume they would do what they could to get someone off the waitlist.. a week isnt hard to make up for when your going to school for another four years.. but that being said im emotionally throwing in the towel and preparing myself for next cycle
 
good idea All4Dental, its very slim and i have NEVER heard of them pulling from the waitlist beyond today...so gear up for next cycle hope to see ya there next year! 🙂
 
Well, it's official then, the admissions office closes at 4:30 everyday, so today is over. We are all officially off the waitlist in one way or another. I guess the positive is that now we have some closure, lol, there's no more staring at the phone hoping it will ring with Barbara's #.
 
hoping today may see a suprise! its not over until you get that rejection letter in the mail, which they will most likely begin mailing today! 🙂

has anyone contacted the admissions office to ask WHY they were rejected? any who is applying next cycle!
 
Resurrection for the 2012 entering class! Post if you are on the waitlist, what tier you were placed..

and obviously if you have been pulled off the waitlist, possible movement on the waitlist in the next couple of weeks. Goodluck!

oops sorry.. I posted on so many buffalo waitlist threads i forgot to post here. So I am on the waitlist on the upper third tier, and hope to hear good news in the next couple of weeks.
