I'm a first year here, and I'm very happy with my choice!! Make sure you check out the interview feedback on UB if you haven't already; that should offer some insight on how past applicants have viewed their interviews. If it's on a week where I'm helping with the tours, I'll be happy to introduce myself!
Take a browse through this and the dental forums by using the "search this forum" button...there's been a lot said on Buffalo and I'd just be repeating the same. If you think of additional, specific questions, just ask!
Basically, so you know what to expect, I think it opens with a short DVD (probably cheezy) then you'll probably get blabbed to by the director of admissions and some other people. Then the fun starts! Your interviews are before lunch, and when you're not interviewing there will be current students there from all four years who you can ask any question to you want. (I do that every so often, and trust me, we're not on the admissions committee!!) I would really utilize that opportunity and ask about the things you may not want to during your interview...like apartments, what to do for fun, what the student/prof dynamic is like....how stressed they are...that sort of thing. During your interview, definitely seem interested and ask a lot of questions too. Then you have pizza and
Buffalo wings, then get a tour of the dental and med schools. It's a really laid back day, and they will try to make it as low-stress as possible. You will probably have two interviewers at the same time, and they ARE famous for seeming to question parts of your application (more than other schools), but it's definitely NOT as serious as it seems at first. Right after the interview, everyone's super laid back and munching on
wings. Good luck!
