Bullet points & 'Reason for leaving'

Two questions on ERAS:

For sections like Hobbies/Awards, can we use bullet points '•' before each entry? It shows up perfectly fine in notepad and also when I print my application to a pdf. I haven't seen a good explanation for the best format for such sections.

What are the 'reason for leaving' sections used for? Are most people leaving these blank?

I believe aPD has said that even if it looks fine when you upload it, trying to make bullet points in ERAS will cause it to look weird when it comes out on ERAS. So don't do that.

I left most of the "leaving" things blank.

ERAS should really have a way to list things since it improves readability. Separating things by commas or semicolons makes it really hard to scan but guess I got to follow their format.
