Hi everyone! Just wondering if a C- will or will not satisfy the "C" prerequisite requirement for dental school. Thanks!

yeah a few schools require C's in all prereqs, but I had one and still got into a couple of em. Even got an interview at one school that actually stated that they required at least a C. My advice would be to retake it if you have both the time and patience to see the same annoying stuff for another quarter/semester.

Did you end up having to retake the course you got a C- in?

I'm hoping to contact a couple dental schools about this. I have a feeling C- does not fulfill "C" requirement, but I want to double check.

Yea best bet is to find out about your individual schools.
Some do accept C- as long as it's not below C but I do remember some schools do clearly state that C- will not fulfill their requirement.

It all varies with schools so definitely try to contact schools. Also, if your grade is not too far from just a C, I would recommend you to talk to your professors about it (since you're not requesting bump from C to B, i think it wouldn't be a bad idea to at least give it a try)

Well, the thing is, is that I took these courses over 5 years ago, and those are the grades I got then. You're right though - I do see that some schools specifically state that C- will not work. I'm still going to talk to the schools just to be sure. Thanks for the advice!

I think you are SOL if you get C- in pre-reqs and the school requires C or above. If it wasn't a prereq, it wouldn't matter. Talk to the school

i would say retake it just to be sure. C- is usually not acceptable.
