Dont be worry..ill be there lol...everyone is very nice and it will not be a pressure interview like other schools. Just make sure you get sleep the night before and go over the interview questions. I'm just nervous because this is the only school I want to go to because its close to my father who is ill so I can be close to him while still going to school..sooo it is important I get into to this school.

Understandable. I want to be near my mother too cause she's getting old. I have one problem though, I'm getting over a sore throat....and my voice is horrible. It's slowly coming back but I guess I'm just gonna stay silent until tomorrow haha

My only advice is call lauren. Just know now is a busy time for admission. I would also check your spam for the supplemental application? Good luck to you. I hope your other interviews go well.

Wow..up looking at the interview questions for tomorrow..I never realized how hard tell me about yourself could be since I love talking...just talking in an interview format..getting nervous...

Hey everyone best of luck. If you are yourself I think it's a ticket for admission. They know when you're you're being truthful.

3 things that help are making sure you answer the question first, give an example, and how it affected you.

I tried going over those questions but honestly if I studied those questions, I sounded more scripted than anything. It could work for some people I guess.

I also interviewed on the 12th and was accepted. I was the girl sitting in the very back at the little side table with curly hair and glasses in a skirt suit. I met a majority of you.

THIS SCHOOL DOES NOT HAVE RESOURCES AND THEY HAVE MULTIPLE PROFESSORS THAT DO NOT TEACH! YOU HAVE TO BE WILLING TO TEACH YOURSELF A MAJORITY OF THE MATERIAL. THE CLASS AVERAGES ARE ALWAYS IN THE LOW 70'S....
SOME PEOPLE MAY LIKE THE SELF TEACHING YOURSELF BUT IF YOU ARE USED TO BEING ABLE TO WALK INTO YOUR PROFESSORS OFFICE TO ASK FOR HELP FORGET ABOUT IT HERE. THIS SCHOOL IS VERY CHALLENGING (IM A STUDEDNT PASSING ALL CLASSES) BUT THE AMOUNT OF WORK IM PUTTING IN IS KILLING ME LITERALLY AT LEAST 50 HRS A WEEK OF STUDYING.

THE WHOLE NOT DRINKING WATER IS A REAL SERIOUS ISSUE...I HAVE MET MULTIPLE PEOPLE WHO HAVE GONE TO THE HOSPITAL FOR DEHYDRATION AND THE FACACULTY GET TO DRINK WATER SO THEY ARE OK. AND THEY DO NOT CARE!

ALL IM SAYING IS I WISH SOMEONE WOULD HAVE WORN ME ABOUT THIS SCHOOL....DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THIS SCHOOL AND MAKE SURE ITS THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR YOU. I KNOW IT WAS THE WRONG ONE FOR ME!

GOOD LUCK!

When you went on your interview, did the school not tell you about their teaching styles and/or methods? Did they not tell you about no water in the lecture rooms? Are you saying that you were completely blind sided? How much studying time in graduate school, pursuing a pharmD, do you feel is appropriate?

Pharmacy school is pharmacy school. It is no different than any other school as far as how much you study. Maybe you should try different study methods or group up with classmates to study. You're in graduate school and should be able to learn and think on your own anyways. As a pharmacist are you going to constantly call someone for help when you're the only pharmacist working at your pharmacy? Are you going to ask your technicians on how to solve your problems? Also aren't classes only 4 hours a day? So you're saying out of 24 hours of the day you absolutely need water in class because you don't have the other 20 hours to even get a drop of water? You realize some pharmacists hardly get a chance to eat or drink because of how busy the pharmacies are? I never see my pharmacists eat or drink anything. On top of that, they work 12 hours straight. They are alive and working every day. With all that being said, you should've done your research before you got accepted to school. I really hope this is the last post bashing LECOM.

PS: learn to take off caps lock on your keyboard

Good luck everyone who are applying!

Oohhh Nooo..I'm not going to go to this school now because I'm not allowed to drink water in class. Ill have to study too much..and they won't spoon feed me the information..oh just wow. Who posts these redundant..pointless posts? Do these posters have any upper level academia experience? Btw..I don't need to research the no drinking policy and the study load because I listened during my interview. I don't expect this to be an easy experience. I expect pharmacy school to be grueling and stressful. I have friends in different pharmacy schools all over and its the same everywhere. If you thought differently then yes you should of done your research.

And why did I read 70% avg and got perky ..I have been in classes at the university with class average in the 30-40% range. Now that is scary get someone's attention. Experience with a professor who would stop the lecture hall of 400 students because he saw someone smiling walked to edge of the stage and told her she had nothing to be happy about..which was distracting. I watched prof Slam doors in students faces. Working in a lab for four hours refluxing and ect and not able to leave to use the restroom and no drinks allowed there either..had a prof who told the girls to stand up jump on one leg and scream his name for extra credit so he can watch them bounce. One university had a prof who had Taliban ties and was removed from campus. These are examples that would get my attention not can't drink water in class and follow it up with dramticsof going to the hospital because of it..if it was that bad my common sense survival skills i would of gone and drank out of the sink in the bathroom or better yet the

Cafe sells fluids. Instead of going to the hospital...can you tell I'm annoyed with these posts lol. If your going to inform us of why not to go to lecom please give me some good reasons. Don't waste my time with another can't drink water in class post.

Aren't we allowed to go out of classrooms to drink water during 15-minute-break between classes????
Working hard + not drinking in classes = 1 year + $70,000 tuition saving ( Lecom). Is this a good deal?

Hi everyone,

I am currently in the class of 2017 and I do not agree with the above post.

I am sure we all went through the same interview process and became aware of the policies of the school before making the decision whether to accept or decline our acceptance. I learned about the drinking policy during my interview session so I was aware of what I was getting myself into. While staying hydrated is important, not being able to take a sip of water for 50 min has not affected me. We do get 10 min breaks between lectures and the water fountain is literally right around the corner from the lecture halls. If it is urgent and you must drink something, you are allowed to step out during lecture and go have a drink. Just like if it is urgent to use the restroom, we are allowed to step out of the lecture and go to the restroom. It really is not a big deal! However, I believe that this individual is probably referring to not being able to drink in the library while studying. Again, as stated before, if you must have a drink just step outside and go have your drink and think of it as a mini study break.

I must disagree with the professors being allowed to drink in the lecture halls! I know that they also follow the policy just like us because one professor actually made a comment about how if we thought that not being able to drink water sucks, then think about standing there lecturing for a whole 50 min and not being able to drink. However, I did notice that one professor brought a cup of water into lecture but that was only that one time.

As for studying, all the professors are really helpful, nice, and approachable. They want us to succeed. I agree that there is a lot of material to learn but at the end of the day, it is doable if you apply yourself to it! And if you are struggling, do not wait until you fail an exam to seek help! If you do fail an exam, the school requires that you meet with that professor and talk about your issues and whether you need a tutor and so on. So the resources are out there! There are tutors, some professors hold review sessions, and you are allowed to email them with any questions you may have or simply just visit them in their offices. In my opinion, the faculty provides a great support system.

I am very happy with my decision!

Good luck everyone!

Do you have the right lecom? From my understanding, the Bradenton campus uses a four year curriculum, so I don't see where the extra year comes in.

I knew about the no fluids which I thought I would be fine with. But when you are under stress it's a different ball game. Dehydration does happen and I'm just saying it's something to consider.

When I interviewed I was not warned about their teaching styles nor did I not know that this was a self teaching type of program. Resources are scarce so you have to learn on your own. I just gave a warning. You don't have to listen but I wish someone would have told me.

I agree with most of the posts that the water bottle policy should never be a deal breaker in any case. What are your guys' thoughts on what LECOM posted in regards to pharmacists as an overpaid profession? This obviously irked me as a potential applicant when I was researching schools during the summer and it caused an uproar with their own alumni and preceptors. Both the original post and their follow-up apology can be found at http://wehatelecom.com/forum/discussion/4/lecom-facebook-post-about-pharmacy-salaries/p1

Anyways........I like LECOM..know people that go to LECOM and they like it. I find a lot of the behavior lately on this forum and the link about LECOM sound juvenile. You can pretty much find negative garbage and rants about almost all schools. Fact is I'm still going to get an education and at a lower cost. Also, it is my responsibility to make my experience at any college what I want to make it. I would like to see thisnforum go back to the positive page that is there to support future and current applicants. Encouragement not negativity some are infecting this page with. Some people want to go here and are happy to go here constant belittling of their adult choice and of their acheivement of acceptance should be respectfully noticed not to tell then their school is crap from unviable sources. I congratulate everyone for their acceptance and future interviews. And to tell you don't let evil and negativity rain on your parade and becareful when listening to negativity when making any life decisions. Good luck in your futures no matter where you attend.
