This Q must have been asked a dozen times.

But I went to a couple different colleges, and was wondering what app out there calculates the AMCAS cGPA so that I can get an idea of what it is.

Uh, I don't get how to use these links. In general tho - if you have a 3.5 at your host college and took 7 credits and got an A elsewhere, how do you average both those grades into one?

You completely disregard whatever GPA your host college provides. When calculating your AMCAS GPA, you only take into consideration individual courses and their classifications.

I can't assume that it will be close to the same? I have to put in each individual course in order to calculate it?

It most likely will be very close to the same. You can definitely calculate it without doing all that extreme inputting by assuming that your host college treats all your courses the same away that AMCAS does.. If you want a 100% exact answer, then you will have to input everything one by one.

Assuming all your courses themselves are calculated in the same way AMCAS calculates it, you can simply multiply your GPA by the amount of credits you have (GPA is an average so this will work out), then add 28 to it (7 credits x 4 points of A), then divide it by the total number of credits (host college credits+7). That will be your new cGPA. Again, we are assuming your host college calculated your GPA the exact same way AMCAS does and you have no "extra" classes on your transcript that do not affect your GPA or else you will have to include those as well, if you received a grade and the course was worth credit.

Keep in mind that A+ = 4 and A- = 3.7, so if your host college treats them differently, you will definitely have to recalculate everything manually.

Should I subtract credits from my host college that I took as a P?

Yes, that's something else I forgot to mention. Classes taken P/NP do not count. Only the credits that affect your GPA will be counted in this calculation.

Stupid Q - the total credit on my transcript, thats called "attempted hours"?

Yes, that should be it, although you can just use your intuition by looking at your transcript courses.

Just followed what you did and got it - yep, makes sense. Your a lifesaver

At my school, for an A- for a 2-credit class, I received 7.334 points. Doesnt that mean an A- at my host school is only a 3.667?
As opposed to a 3.7. So should my GPA I'm calculating be higher?

Yes, but that won't change by much, since it just means your school is more accurate than AMCAS. That's why you need to input your classes manually if you want to know your exact cGPA.

Ah ok so maybe I will do it manually to be sure. Which link exactly do I use tho? Someone posted like 3 of them and I just got rlly confused what to do lol

ok I'll try the app.

last q- if your GPA is a 3.52, will it be listed as 3.5 or 3.52? Do they care at all about the third digit or is it all a 3.5 if your anywhere from 3.50 to a 3.59?
