when you calculate your pre-reqs GPA, does college algebra/pre calculus count towards that or is it just strictly calculus ( or whatever math is required at the prospective school)? likewise with your science pre-reqs.

Algebra is not a pre-requisite, so it won't count for pre-requisites.

PharmCAS will add it into your PharmCAS GPA, of course.

Algebra is also not a Science class, it's a Mathematics class, so unless otherwise put together, it does not count into the "science gpa." Only classes like Chemistry, biology, and organic chemistry (You know, science classes!) count for that.

of course i know its not a science class!
i know that calculus and probability counts toward your math gpa. but i wasnt sure if college algebra and pre cal will also because theyre math classes.

for the science gpa, i wanted to know if classes like cell bio will count towards science gpa. that was what i meant.

Oh, sorry. It's a common error from pre-pharmers, that's all. Just covering the bases!

Cell Bio will certainly count in your sGPA, absolutely.

Calculus, Statistics and Probability, Pre-Calculus, Algebra... All will count on your mathematics GPA, absolutely.

Usually, when you calculate pre-requisite GPA, you only count classes that matter for pre-requisites, and I don't think Pre-Calculus is necessarily counted expressly as a Pre-requisite class (Calculus is, of course) so that is where we got our lines of communication crossed.

So... All things Bio, Chem, etc will count in the sGPA, and Alg---->Calc will count in your mGPA.

HTH more than hurt.

What does Computer Science fall under? I'm guessing just your general GPA and not science GPA.
