Calculating Research Units into GPA

Some of my friends (myself included) are considering and have heard of students that take research for academic credit and get As for those "credits."

I was wondering, if a student was interested in getting academic credit for research every quarter, how would that be calculated into gpa. It wouldn't count as a class that was being repeated every quarter right? Just wanted to clarify...

Nope. I actually took "supervised research" twice (research under the same pysc investigator). I listed them separately.
