Has anyone here received an interview invitation,yet (Early decision applicants)?

Thank you EHM1 for your reply. The problem is that the early decision interview date is on september 24th. This means that in a week or so I should know if I was selected for an inerview not in October or end of september

I assume you did not apply for early decision at northstate, but you did get an interview.

I just requested northstate to revert to regular cycle so I can apply for UOP by the deadline just as a backup since I cannot relocate. Touro would be a little too far to drive for me. UOP is 30 miles away from my home.

Congrats to you too....I know....the nerves are starting to kick in for me too but the way I am looking at it is whatever happens..happens. We got this far so that is an accomplishment in itself 👍

CNCP recieved my PharmCAS by Aug 30th and supp on Aug 25th

I wanted to fly as well but the ticket prices are up the roof! dont want to spend 400-500 bux just for one interview 🙁 planning to drive up on Thursday and come back Friday after the Interview.

Do they have the writing sample after the interview too?

Once you reply admissions about your availability, they will email you about the timings and other info..I just recieved my invitation today, so haven't started preparing for it

Does anyone know what your chances for acceptance are, after you get an interview invitation? I read somewhere on CNCP's website that 400 people get interviewed but only 80 get accepted. What do you guys think?

I did not register with the state after I got my tech certificate. Should I put yes or no?

I'm thinking of putting "yes" and filling out the date of initial certification and renewal, but I'm not sure....😕

That's what I personally would do because I wouldn't want to put "No I didn't get anything done for the pharm tech license." I would put "yes" and clarify that I'm only certified, not licensed.

BUT..I'm not an expert lol. I think it's best if you email or call admissions ([email protected]). Best of luck!

It's an individual interview with one faculty and one CNCP student. And there's a team-based learning exercise portion, which includes everyone who is invited on that interview date. And after that exercise, there is an essay part.

I think you are right about the groups but not about everyone being an early decision applicant because I am not. I applied to northstate and 4 other schools and I am interviewing on the 24th as well.

yeah, sorry for the confusion. i believe you're right, there are 3 groups for easier coordination. but within those groups, there are individual interviews..i think.

and i'm not early decision either.

Try Googlemapping and taking a "street view tour." Nerdy, but it works for me! 😀

I understand location is very important. But, you have to consider the cost to attend school ~40K tution+20K living expenses+cost of not working full time (30K for me) so you're giving up roughly 90K per yr. You want to get the bang for your buck and go to the best possible school. If you go to a well established school, you can do your rotations anywhere as they usually have perceptors in various places... Also, with the competitiveness of pharmacy profession, going to a well respected school might become important. Not only that, Northstate doesn't qualify for subsidized loans right now.

California and pharmacy doesn't need further saturation. Look at the job market. They are a for profit school.

For your kind information, 9th one is coming up soon in Fresno. That school will open in 2012.

We have been leaving near school for 2 years now, nothing has happened so far. Every now and then you hear abt breaking into somone's car etc. but that happens everywhere once in a while.
Location is pretty good, groceries nearby, restaurants, etc.

It is an individual interview, with 1 faculty and 1 student. The divide in color for the tour, TBL excercise, and Q& A session.

Just an update for everyone who's applying. Starting this year, Northstate students can apply to the EdSouth PharmD loan. It's a private loan with 5% interest rate, alot better than the sallie mae loan. I don't want to advertise the loan so contact the school's financial aid office to ask for more details or go to the school's website.

It is safe, but you don;t want to rent across the freeway(50), On the airport side -near CNCP -is safe since there are many business/industry/ new house & suburb.

I too was asked some questions that I wasn't very prepared for..but somehow manged to answer..I'm hoping that they liked my responses. overall the school staff,faculty and students were really nice 👍

I didn't like the interview. I talk to another interviewer and he said my questions were difficult. Falcuty spent 50% time talking and twisting my mind on philosophy about how to choose a basketball team within the school and against other school.

So now it is just waiting until you hear back form the school (after the first interview invitations). Do you guys think that the first interviewed applicants have a higher chance of acceptance than the applicants who will receive an interview invitation later next month.
I am asking because I am not sure how many student will get accepted from the first round of interviews. I believe there were about 50-60 people present for the September 24th interview.

For some reason I can't get the version of Adobe needed to fill out the spaces on the application, and the public computer that I'm using to view and fill out the application won't allow me to save it to the hard drive. Does anyone know when the acceptance letters get sent out? I know it takes 8-10 weeks (that's what was written in the interview package), but I was wondering if admissions ever sends acceptance letters out earlier?
